    Grammar question

I know that a lot of you find grammar annoying and pedantic, but something has been bothering me for days. Shouldn't Truth's title be "Un-fuckwithable?"

This message, by its overall tone and content, appears directed to those that find poor grammar annoying and pedantic. However, it's addressed to those who simply find grammar annoying and pedantic. Interesting.

"Grammar", itself, can be neither annoying nor pedantic. Complaining about poor grammar can be.

In the U.S. we always put punctuation inside the quotes, you JONG, so you should have wrote "Grammar," itself...

How's that for annoying and pedantic?

Shouldn't there be a comma after "shit?"

Well, now that you mention it, there should have been a comma after ' "grammar," itself'. Or should that be "Grammar, herself?" She always did make a mean chicken soup.

    Wink Word Choice and Mysticism

I would hesitate to say that grammar is "pedantic" because it certainly doesn't parade its learning around (or do much moving in general); nor is grammar a boring, uninspiring teacher. People who get all hung up on grammar (correcting people at a party, editing their friend's letters and then returning them, having internet debates about how boring and grindstone-esque grammar, spelling and punctuation can be) are pedantic.

Shit! Now I'm sounding all pedantic. Must stop now! Bad, Julie! I probably couldn't blend in in the ghetto because I can't stand to use bad grammar. There, I said it. Oh, god, I'm so ashamed!!!!

    Ghetto Shmetto

I was thinking of California ghettos. I even lived in one for 6 months in college. Nope, I never said anything for fear of getting punched in the mouth or shot.

You mean HER name, and spelling god with a capital "G" is blaphemous unless you mean one of many gods (as in Ullr). Either way, I'm truly humiliated, flogging myself with my ski pole as I write (kinda hard to do!)
