Bluebird, I'd rather lop with my loppers, but I am willing to loan my trimmer to the cause for the day if there is someone else that could make use of it. It's a Husqvarna professional trimmer. It's more than 20 years old and very heavy but it has the bike handles and harness.

^^ this. I can't wait to finish off Hermione's Crotch and take a look at another area that I 'found' this winter and seems like it has quite a bit of potential.

Dates to pay attention to : 9/26, 10/10 and 10/17.

Time to tune up yer gear.

I grabbed a replacement saw blade to go on a 3 ft. handle I use for saplings down low and branches up high

Replacing this guy for my fiskars power gear loppers, its effortless up to 2.5".

I had one of these 2 years ago up there and it worked on on briars but was dull, probably look into a fresh one.

What does the collective have to say about painting stumps right after cutting? Im mostly talking about striped maples.

Pull striped maples out. The roots are very shallow.

Yeah the saplings come right out, otherwise just go out of your way to cut them at dirt level.

Cut them at chest level and lever them out. No stumps to deal with during low tide!
It's not tragic to die doing what you love.
