there needs to be proper nomenclature for identifing the EHP190 and the EHP193 since they are different skis

I've thought about that. Probably safer if you did it with 171s though.

Ixnoticed you ride a variety of tele bindings on your skis. How do you rate your plate bindings like the hammerheads and bombers to cable bindings. Do you have any trouble going back and forth? I have always run g3 targas w/ stiff springs, but am considering some bombers. I have t race boots and ski 189 madens or 179 pistols depending on the day. Do you think it is worth the money to mount up bombers on my skis? Thanks for the help.

Here's how the 2006-2007 season starts off:

    L--->R
    The SO quiver -
158 Voilé Carbon Surf - Voilé Hardwire
    170 Atomic TM22 - Voilé Hardwire

    Mine -
168 Alpina Cross Terrain - Voilé 3-pin (strictly for schralping the sickest, steepest gnar-gnar)
175 Voilé Mtn Surf - Voilé 3-pin Cable (early season tried 'n true tourers)
178 Dynafit FR 10.0 - Dynafit TLT (for trying to keep up with trackhead, gramps and APD)
178 Dynafit FR 10.0 - 7tm Tour (for spring chuting and longer tours)
178 Dynastar Inspired - Rottefella Cobra (early season tried 'n true all-rounders)
180 Volkl Explosiv - Bishop Bomber (found the skis on the side of the road in CO )
    184 Scott P3 - 22Designs Hammerhead (SAC-a-rama park/bc jibbers)
185 Drake Powderworks Wailer - Voile CRB 3-pin Hardwire (replacing the Surreals I broke)
186 Drake Boinay Tabla Rasa - Bishop Bomber (still my Best. Skis. Evarr.)
193 Atomic Big Daddy - Bishop Bomber (great all-rounders for bigger days)
191 Teleboard Pursuit - Voilé Cable (haven't tried it yet)

60 Salomon SnowBlade (um... for pondering the insanity)

    The boneyard (not shown):
    Burton splitboard with Voilé split-kit
200 Dynastar Course SL Ceramic - Voilé CRB 3-pin cable
    200 Tua Montet MX - Rottefella 412
    195 K2 KVC - Voilé 3-pin cable
195 Dynstar Vertical - Voilé CRB 3-pin cable
185 Salomon XFree - Rottefella Cobra

My boardname is Tri-U and I'm a gearaholic. I'm trying to seek counseling for this affliction, but I tend to hang out online with a bunch of facilitators. Thanks (?) to Evmo, telemike, sfotex, Dirk Diggler, Rontele, nate s, Jonathan S, upallnight, Unruly Baker and David Witherspoon for many of the new ski/binding additions.

I don't have trouble moving back and forth between binding systems, as they serve different purposes on the different skis. The Bishop Bombers are pretty much nonpareil for edge control, which is why I have them on all the burlier/wider skis like the V-Ex, Big Daddy and Tabla Rasa. I also like them because they have a very smooth flex curve, and don't feel "hinge-y". It's also nice that they can be adjusted for activity as I personally don't like bindings that are too "active". They might be overkill for narrower or lighter skis, and they don't tour very well - in fact they tour like shit due to weight and no tour mode. For your Made'ns as in-area only (or sidecountry at the most) setup they'd be great, but (especially for the Pistols) you can get plenty of power/control with Hardwire/Cobra type bindings or underboot cable systems like the BD O2/O1 and the Hammerhead. I haven't skied G3s recently, but IIRC they're not all that different from my Voilé cables in feel, and the Hardwire/Cobra or underfoot designs are a step up from that. In short, in terms of edge control, I'd rate them:

    3-pin alone
    -------------
    Voilé 3-pin cable
    7tm
    G3
    7tm Tour
    -------------
    7tm Power/Power Tour
    Voilé Hardwire
    UTB
    Rottefella Cobra R8
    Voilé 3-pin Hardwire
    Hammerhead
    BDEL O1/O2
    -------------
    Voilé VP-II
    Bishop Bomber

The ------------- denotes marked increases between bindings that otherwise feel generally similar to me, though they're still listed in order of increasing edging power. I don't know where Linkens or Bulldogs fit, since I haven't tried them. This is just my own opinion, and doesn't take into account the differences in "active" feel between the bindings. In my mind, "active" versus "neutral" differences are distinct from overall edge control, though somewhat related.

I think that little chart of yours would be a good addition to marshals reccomended gear list.

Tri-U, both Linkens and Buldogs are pretty low (ie. around VP-II) on your list. While both are pretty neutral (Bulldog being complitely neutral), they both deliver really good edge control... Linken 'cause it's a plate binder (just as Bomber and VP-II) and Bulldog 'cause it really clamps the duckbill tightly on the binder (basicly none to almost none slop).

Here's the quiv for this year...

    r to l:
    189 Pontoons w/ S916s
    193 Sanouks w/ 916 NINJA!!!
189 Kahunas w/ 912tis, probably going to go ninja
    189 Pistol w/ 912s, probably ninja too
195 FGS 240, rock boards. Have not gotten much use yet
188 AK Enemies w/ Silvretta Pure. Yes, the bindings are taped on for this photo, not mounted yet. Awaiting Garmont Endorphins for the mount.
    204 Morrison...still love these skis!

the right side of the quiver gets a whole lot more use than the left! Have to love the PNW.

Probably going to add some of this year's 179 Public Enemies at a later point, as well as some short Volkl Supersports or something similar.

gabe - that is the cleanest I've seen that section of your apartment ever (I am guessing everything was just moved out of the frame ) . Quiver looks good too. You really are a fan of the ninjas aren't you.

I like the cases of beer on the right too. Mmmmm...beer.....

umm, yeah. I have an overlap problem! To tell you the truth, I bought the 'nukes and the poons to try new things in pow...spice up my love life and all. Been on the nukes once, and the poons thrice. I love the poons. The pivot thing, the ski being arched in a turn, the rockered clownshoe tip crushing all...

The nice thing about the rockered tip and tail is, if we get, say, a foot dump, and it's bumpy and crusty underneath, the poons kinda float above it all. Tips definitely stay clear, so you don't get beat up as much.

the nukes are taking some getting used to, they're 193s so they're longer than most I'm used to, and they mount kinda far back. A lot of tip sticking out ahead! Still, surprisingly I went over the handlebars on them like 3 or 4 times, and released...I was getting tip dive. You kinda have to pressure the tails a bit to get the swallowtails to do their thing, and keep the tips clear. It was kind of surprising.

Sad thing is, I'd still love to try or maybe even buy Squads in a 189, EHPs in a 193, and FFFs in a 190 or 200.
