Still my favorite thread. This years line-up. I'm 59 yo been skiing for 55 of those years. 6' and 220 lbs. I keep saying that I will outgrow this ski collecting habit. The only thing that seems to change is, I get one year older. rip Warren Miller.



Head Kore 105 with Look HM-12.

Head Kore 117 I liked the 105 so much I got the 117. The Kore series seem very under rated. I'm not sure why. Maybe to a little to stiff and not playful enough? They ski light and damp. I don't thing Head knows how to make a ski that is not damp.

Blizzard Cochise A classic. I thought I was done with these. Was going to recycle the bindings to another ski. Couldn't do it. Had to buy another set of pivots instead.

Blizzard Brahma 88 Wow what a ski. Possibly the best in it's class. There's a reason why it seems to show up in so many quivers in this thread.

Blizzard Bodacious Another amazing ski by Blizzard. I was on the 196cm version. I was just to big and planky for my purposes. Got the 186 and love it. It's kind of all I want to ski on at the moment. Reminds me the Q Lab but better.

Kastle BMX105HP Easy charger. Does everything pretty well. So nice in the pow.

Nordica Enforcer 110 Fun ski that carves well for it's width. Wish it had a flatter tail.

K2 Annex 98 A really nice ski being wasted on a tele setup. Oh well I was exclusive free heel guy for 20 something years. I had to keep one setup.

Skis I am eyeballing for next year are the Cochise 106 or the Katana 108. Leaning towards the K108. Then the old blue Cochise would get retired.

Same weight. A bit taller, slightly younger.

Fucking Brahma is the go to ice coast or low tide ski. Searched for years since was forced to move out east. Once I found Brahma, that’s it. Have a backup pair.

Blue Cochise? That’s my travel ski. Do anything anywhere anytime on a real mountain.

Would love to try the kästle HP
Marshall raves about it. And I have yet to ride a ski he likes that I don’t like.

I've been on them a fair bit this year and last. Really like the shape and "smoothness" of the ski. Wish the tips were stiffer, but I think that they combine with the more stout body and tail to give that smooth feeling- does to me add a upper speed limit however. Unfortunately I took a nasty core shot and the core swelled up a tad and I've had a hell of a time getting the bases flat again.

Wrong length or I’d be all over them. Keep those safe, they are rare these days

194s- a recent pick up for me, I have been on them the last few weeks. Amazing do it all ski comfortable anywhere. I understand why you've hoarded them.

They complement the superbros very nicely. Similar in many ways but that extra 8mm or so width makes the mx much more pleasant in shallow pow (go figure) allowing to arch shorter radius turns if needed.

I stand corrected, that is the correct length for me! Congrats on finding a pair, they are rarer then walk on trams on a pow day in Jackson!

It’s so weird how they appear to be huge stiff missiles, but aren’t? They are somewhat soft, and easy to ski if you have proper form and know how to bend to ski a ski. But they also can be put on edge and made to go 90 mph IF you really want to haha! I haven’t tried them in over 8 inches of pow, but with out they ski in up to 8 inches, I’m always semi curious.

Very nice quiver, keep those MX 98s safe. I haven’t found anything quite like them. I am curious about the 194 Rossignol Black Ops Sender TI. The flex pattern is closer to the MX 98 then I thought it would be.

Smooth like a Caddy describes them perfectly. And maybe I'm high, but at least compared to my Enforcer 110s, the Stockli's seem to guide me into their sweet spot. The Enforcers are "no, no, no, there - that's what you're supposed to do".

Maybe that's what people mean when they say Stocklis make you a better skiier.

Short answer is yes.
It may be a placebo effect but I thought so the second I pulled them out of the bag. Visually they look crisp, like race room crisp. They are around 350 g lighter a ski which was way noticeable. Bases were flat and although it’s hard to tell seem more durable. My stock mb bases are pretty soft and I have had core shots on my old 116’s just by hitting a thumb size rock. Funny because I beat on those Ltd 116’s and they have held up well. Idk? I was worried that the 106 and 108’s would ski too similar but they are way different and I love them both for different reasons. The 108’s are damp, almost chargers but somehow have a real fun playful feel. The 106’s are quicker, lighter, not as damp but definitely not bouncing all over the place. The 106 skied more like a 99 than it did a 112 if that makes sense. All in all I’m super happy with all three skis. They are not as one dimensional as other skis that I own.

my quiver. not much. but I try to keep my belongings to an absolute minimum. I'd like to reduce my consumption as much as possible since (personal opinion) I feel way too much stuff is produced and bought in this world. I am a gear nerd as well, spend endless hours reading and watching reviews etc. but in the end I can answer the question "do I really need this?" mostly by saying no. Owned a Burton Fish before - sold it to buy my first Splitboard, Jones Solution (I use it for technically easier tours and powder). My previous (one quiver) ski was the BD Helio 105 with Vipecs - sold it. Now I have this narrower MTN 95 for alpine endeavors, some resort. Bought it from a friend who bought it and did not use it...have not tested it yet.
