Thats the most powder anyone has ever seen in Colorado. Hell, I have lived here 24 years and have only had 0 powder days.

Yeah, Bert's got twice as much at least. What is up with that? Although I couldn't get up onto Loveland Pass today to see how much they got last night. So it could be deeper there than yesterday. A truck went off the same place as last year. CDOT didn't put the chain rule into effect in time is my understanding.

Early tomorrow morning will probably be the last chance to grab any of this. The sun's gonna melt it all off, except prolly the permanent snowfields will hold it a little longer - I hope...

Thanks, Aerie - are you heading out at all? I'll be skiing the next three days before I get shackled. Wanna come with?

Who the devil is that in the pic? I can't tell without the green jeans.

Also, are you still on the same old Dynastar Inspireds? They're not going to be your ski for the coming season, are they? You'd probably be skiing on the wood core since those bases have got to be fried. What do you have lined up equiptment-wise for this season?

Sweet!! I'm hoping to do some mountaineering this weekend in RMNP, and I've got the crampons ready for hopefully some mixed climbing. We'll be descending Andrew's Glacier so I'll let everyone know if it's improved since the last TR. Still waiting for a decent base to develop before I go skiing, my knees wouldn't do well if locked my tips under a branch.

Hopefully it'll snow like this all year!! I have a good feeling that it will

Oh, nice!!! You are going to have the most beautiful hike in there. Looking forward to your pics.

Andrews kicked my ass. But I'm still here to talk about it...

Next summer I am going to focus on RMNP as much as possible. That place is just amazing.

Yup. I was so hating those skis on Andrews the other day. But today, they were wonderful, soft snow is where they rule. I'm planning to get Explosiv 173 and Stockli 171 for this coming season. Explosiv with at bindings and stockli mounted alpine. Shorter than my 178 skis, but way burlier. Then next year I want to up the length to 180. And I will be master of the universe!!!

I was all by my lonesome. And it was so nice. Not that I don't love you guys and all. But it was really beautiful out there with just me and the mountains and the trees and the snow. And I've gotten over some kind of hurdle as far as fear goes. At least for these easy access places...

So that means you can go skiing?

Torrey's on Sunday? I also have something nice lined up for Saturday, if you're interested.
