No sleep til Sterling......

<Sterling Flashback>
My first solo drive out to Colorado was almost over. The big Mercury Marauder had done well so far, barely shut her off since Pennsy. I had picked up a H-hiker along the Pike back there. We made a trade, and as a result I didn't really sleep much the rest of the trip. Well, by the time I was headed down 25 towards Denver, my right foot was getting numb. I had to change my position. With nobody on the road for miles, I pulled over and grabbed a few things from the trunk. Pillow against the top of the driver side door, ski pole on the accelerator, and legs stretched out over the passenger seat I was riding in style. I ran at about 85 for almost an hour without seeing anybody, only the front range in the distance drawing me in. Well, that came to an abrubt halt. No sooner did I come over a slight roll in the terrain, I blew by a state trooper sitting right on the side of the road pointed directly at me. He comes out, I roll up into the driver seat and slow the sled down, pulling over to the side. He walks up, looks at me, and asks; " comfortable back there?". Well, 15 minutes later and a couple hundred dollars poorer I was on my weary way.
