Idaho whitewater

I just moved from Wisconsin to Idaho for school, and i want to get some boatin in. But i dont know the area well. i was thinking about running the "banks to beehive bend" stretch of the payette this weekend, just for a warm up. i hear it is still holding some water? has anyone paddled this?

You can run that stretch year round. There should be a couple little waves in right now. It's all class III. If you want to cut off some flat water, take out at Chief Parrish.
