    Boston bound..

Staying Downtown at the Langham on Franklin St. for the wknd (sat. wedding). Any recommendations on the following would be most helpful....

    • Seafood that doesn't require a jacket and tie
    • Dark, casual bars- guiness pints
    • places to jog

Thanks in advance...also anyone up for beers friday eve in the d-town area?

down for beers if i'm around, which unfortunately is unlikely.

as far as your 3 questions i am not going to be much help:

never gone out for seafood in boston
don't drink guinness (edit: at least, not if i'm paying for it)
what is this 'jogging' you speak of? is it pronounced 'yogging'?

lots o places fit the guiness and seafood bill.

yogging is excelent on the esplanade, aka the banks of the muddy river charles.

shoot me a PM, would certainly be down for some beers within walking distance from your pimpy hotel.

Start at 4 Point Channel/Rowes Wharf and head north for as far as you want/can and then turn around. If you stop at 4 Point Channel walk accross the bridge (North Bridge) to the large brick building (Courthouse) and the Barking Crab will be on your right. Lucky's is also just a few blocks away.
There's a lot to be said for nowhere.

Going to a play Friday, but I'm hoping to be over at Wally's in the South End after that.

    I second DaveTV's recommendations.

Thanks for a flash back from a previous life for JJ Foley's. It has been a long time, but I remember getting sloshed there way past last call more than a few times. Most towns, that place is shut down years ago. Maybe all the off duty cops keep it open for their late night carousing.

the landing has them, near fannuiel hall, not chinese, but outside. its right by the aquarium/mariot.

i get in trouble every time i go there. i'm sure they are availabe at tons of spots around quincy market, most of those places won't let me in with my blue jeans a ball cap. and i'm wicked ugly.

Where's a good place in the city to get varsity margs? The Cactus Club didn't do anything for me...obviously a rookie here.

yeah, i'd say that if one is in town for a short period of time it'd be cool to seek out things outside of the quincy market area. not saying that i'd avoid anything down there on purpose, but the more intense work happens elsewhere... and things are too damn spendy around quincy market. we took mr. shoelaces to the BHP and drank ducemakers, which was of course an experience.
