2002 vs 2003 (S.A. porn of the week)

snow levels....this is one of the highest elevations around, it gets windfucked on almost all of its aspects so its not the best test to see snow levels, but its one sick mountain, been scoping lines.
    2 hour tour in
1 hour tour out+extra bowl to yourself with an extra 30 min combo tour possible to vagina bootpack....

    look at those rocks.

    so 2002

both times i was up there i chickened out. couldn't find the line through the rocks we had scoped out. things look different from the top. ended up bombing it down to the valley under with great speed...

understatement would be saying "things look different from the top" rather than saying "once at the top everything looked steeper, rockier, and way too gnarly to even think about skiing".

Not saying that's what you meant, but it's happened to me a few times. Allright it's happened to me a lot of times. Note the winkie thing on the original post, and the difference between our avatar's.

    Hey, Dude...

In the second set of photos, is that a geothermal vent in the bottom of the gully?

    oh, i see....

it was gnarly allright up there, but i couldn't locate myself exactly and the mandatory airs were quite bigger then expected...

i don't get the avatar difference either....

nater : it is...there's a second one on the climber right ridge and a 3rd one on the other side of that ridge. they use the water for hot springs in the hotels surrounding the resorts (aka pochable)

Knarly you say... good terrain but icy as an olympic skating rink damn southern winds... sweet pow in the bowl though.

I think we would have died skiing that at that moment...and no fun would be had doing so. Well a good laugh for the on lookers till you realise buddy is dead.

i think it was just hard pack as hell. i wouldn't have been no fun for that. and i couldn't see a way to land that mandatory air. the big fat cliff under kinda scared me if i didn'T stuck the landing..
