Last year opening day at Killington, that happened to my skier Brother-In-Law who happened to be snowboarding that day. Skier passed him and cut/took him out.

We got down to the gondola ready for a fight. My Bro pushed him and called him a dick, the guy took his stance, F you and come on! No punches were thrown though, both guys were old enough to know the legal consequences. I got ahead of the guy in the gondola line and gave him a ration of shit. I then waited for him at the top, in my stance. He only then appologized, he was a dick!

Seeing a skier take out a boarder in that video and in person was pretty funny. Just don't do it on my watch, cause I'll kick yo ass.

You should come visit Southern California. You'd spend more time fighting than skiing. On busy days, I see at least one collision caused by an out of control skier/boarder (more often boarder, due to demographics) on each run. The worst collisions are the ones you can see happening well before either party realizes it (e.g. totally out of control boarder bouncing striaght down the hill + timid skier traversing straight across the hill = time to call ski patrol).

They were going to mark their ski poles in a special way and then use them to whack people that were causing problems. last year at KH i saw a mother shepherding her 3 rugrats down one of the cat roads. I also noticed a few guys lining up in the woods above the road to jump off the cat road. The first guy started to go and i just got scared. it looked for sure he was going to tag one of the kids. He missed, but he came close enough to put the little kid on her ass. the next guy started to go, but i had made it there by then and a forearm in the back ensured he didnt even reach the cat road. While the mother was gathering up her kids, i just stood there, right in the way and jawing with the bastard i had wiped out. I was so angry! I could not believe these guys were terrorizing little kids like that.

I grew up skiing in So Cal, now when I go back to ride there I'm always shocked how lame people can be. I told a guy that he wasn't cool when I saw him throw a bottle in the woods. At lunch time he and his buddies came over to harass ME? My 6'4 friend and I 6' stood up and challanged them back they so they bailed. "You want to fight over you being a litterbug?"

another time in Jackson back in 1990 a guy I know(snowboarder) was resting on the lower faces when a skier traversed over to whack him hard with his pole, then he just skied on like it was nothing. My boarder friend thought about it for a second, got up and ran him down. He smashed him good, but WTF was that all about? The skier said nothing.
Early hatred towards boarding?
