I was sticking up for all the companies he mentioned, even HP because it isn't their fault, it is NVIDIA's. But you and RShea want to turn it into a fanboi blowout. You're the fanboi sir, not me. And since I have searched and see you are all about bashing Apple, what do you actually get from going into threads like this? To say "I love fanbois" and insert your superior dominance? You're a loser if this is what blows your hair back. Sorry to be the one to have to tell you.

I own 3 Macs, and I am not a fan boy...they just work for me, and I never (knock on aluminum case) have any issues that are not easily fixed at home.

Matt, let me know if you need any more help (if you still have the macbook).

And as usual, Hugh has nothing good to say.
You should have been here yesterday!

Apple extended replacement on all machines with the card to 4 years even if the machine is out of warranty. THey are also giving refunds to anyone who has paid for it to get fixed. There is no mention of needing to purchase Apple Care. We know you're an Apple hater by now but before you go blindly blaming something get your fucking facts straight.

And none of us should be blaming the computer manufacturers anyway. It was NVIDIA's fuck-up and their long wait before admitting they fucked up that so many machines were made with these. It should be NVIDIA that we are crying foul from and if Dell people can't get their machines fixed for free, they should sue NVIDIA, hence the class action suit.

This isn't really a thread to go picking on certain companies for what YOU think their repair/return policy should be.
Then I stand corrected AND WILL ADMIT IF I AM WRONG- I have read quite a bit about the issue concerning the solder problems requiring BGA reflowing, many times due to heat problems, etc. and did not know that Apple had done any extending of their standard warranty- GOOD for them. After all for the extra money they cost, at least they are standing behind them. There is no mention of Apple extending the warranty on the official NVidia Class action Law Suit Settlement web site either.

Not really an Apple hater- just think they are a lot of extra money for what they offer.

So I'll edit my original comment and POST too to reflect the new to me info... Chill
