    High Cascades weather

If you look at forcasts for the cascades (baker, rainier etc) it's claiming that they will get a couple of feet of snow in the next few days, and as i've been checking all summer, it seems like it constantly snows. How true is this? If it is, why isn't everyone up there skiing? Could I drive up to Wa tomorrow and ski pow? Just curious.

It could very well snow, but it won't stay pow for long. And you must be smoking something strong if you've seen forecasts for snow throughout the summer. Also, the access bar is pretty high to get where the appreciable pow will be. But by all means, go get it.

Snow Covers Mt. Bachelor on Labor Day

BEND, OR - Laura the Skiwoman smiles as snow covered Mt. Bachelor yesterday, which is a hopeful sign that winter ski lifts will soon be running in the West. The snow line appeared to be 7,500 feet according to the folks at Mt. Bachelor. This is an El Niño year that usually includes severe winter storms in California and the West Coast.

Cliff Mass thinks it's not going to be a good snow year: http://cliffmass.blogspot.com/2009/0...pass-this.html.

"During El Nino winters the Northwest tends to be warmer than normal and a bit drier than normal (see figures). Cascade snowpack tends to be less."

I'm really hoping Cliff Mass is completely wrong. He sometimes is.

    High Cascades weather

I didnt see anything on this so Ive got to ask: I have a Davis VP2 and use Weather Display, not VWS. How do I go about configuring it to transmit data to HAMWeather/W4U? Thanks
