I think you need to head further East to get that kind of terrain. I hear Powder Ridge in CT has some sick vert with tons of bc, pow and trees.
I was amazed at how light and fluffy the powdery snow was and at how the challenge never ended.

    That's hilarious!

I think you are on the wrong board, JONG! This place is for skiers who like groomers, green runs, and hot cocoa in front of the fireplace! (shit, do I even need this wink smilie?)

If you're a park rat or extensive BC skier: Canyons. If you're not: Snowbird.

    I'm going Alta/Snowbird this year.

    Where are you from?

Man lately I don't even ski. I just walk around Deer Valley with my boots on and check out all the milfs. There's nothing better than soakin up some rays on the beach at DV.

PS- The sickest groomers out of anywhere I have ever skied.

    akskier,
what type of offers you talkin bout? are they spancerin you with a pass or are they giving you a discount. either way, see if they'll give you the alta/bird pass that way you have quick access to the bc just above alta. i don't know about touring by the canyons, but i can't imagine it being better than lcc/bcc. maybe you can get passes for both resorts, but if you have to choose...give the canyons the bird.

I was fortunate during my Utah years to have passes to both. SB/Alta still my favorite, although the Can has some great touring options (just shorter than the average LCC/BCC bc run). The Can rarely has a liftline (except Tombstone) and lots of fast quads. Inbounds terrain at the 'Bird is better, but more competition for lines. Note on the Can, though- it's caught more people in deadly slides over the past few years than outside the 'Bird or Alta. Square Top and Dutch's Draw are front runners (but when the snow's deep and stable, these are some fantastic runs). Ignore the many beaters that go outside the gate without gear and don't get caught up with them. At the 'Bird, it's regulated. Gotta check out with patrol at Hidden Peak or top of Gad 2.

Page Powstash for tour of the Can if your in the area. He might show you a few of the hiddens 'stashes at the Can.

If i had to choose I would pick the Bird. But the Canyons is a bit underrated. There are some sick stashes in bounds and very easy BC access..plus having skiied there 60+ days last winter, i can honestly say I waited in line maybe twice. The Bird is just all around better though...except those darn lines on pow days.

If you are going to the U, i think you should consider Snowbasin too. Its not much further than PC would be.
