    Washington Maggots

This is the final leg(this changes daily) of an amazing bicycle trip from Vt. The continuation of the route takes me from Priest River Idaho (where I sit waiting out rain) through :
    Newport
    Colville
    Kettle Falls
    Republic
    Wauconda
    Tonasket
    Riverside
    Okanogan
    Winthrop
    Mazama
    Newhalem
    Rockport
    Concrete
    Sedro-Woolley
    Bay View
    Anacortes

I think these are out of the way places but if any of you live around those areas send me a pm. I may or may not continue to Portland OR so if any of you live in that direction, please do the same..
    thnks

Bullet, I didn't list every town just a scattering. I'm guessing your link didn't work.
The Sherman pass drained me. I'm in Republic..for now I'm thinking anyone should pass through Republic with out stopping

The north cascades highway kicks ass. Your trip should get much more scenic once past mazama, yet still far out of the way for I and many others.

Anyway, free bump and hopefully you can get the ride done before the rain comes later in the week.

I'm working in the Concrete area -- I'll buy you a beer at the Birdsview Brewery if you roll thru after 6pm this week.

    now that's what I'm talking about..pm sent
Will be in Mazama later today.
Not sure about finishing this trip with the hordes at Anancortes/San Juans on Labor Day weekend. May slow things down and hole up till that mess is over.
    Any thoughts?

Yeah, it'll be a shitshow at the ferry terminal starting about 0900 friday. With a bike, you won't be forced to wait any sailings, but it'll be crazy. If you're camping, you would need to check on sites pronto.

If you hit mazama tomorrow, you should be able to cross the pass before friday. It's a pleasant midweek drive, but crazy busy eastbound on friday and westbound on Sun-mon.

Sounds like you're threading through between the fires there in Okanogan right now. Forecast is more lightning tonight right across the Washington Pass area.

Hey, if you want to stall a bit before the weekend, take a right at Sedro-Woolley and loop up through B'ham. You can crash here, then ride the chuckanut down to bayview.

If you make it to Portland you are welcome to stay with me. If Portland is your final destination, I have connections with a local bike chain to help you get your bike UPS'd home.

That was my home 'mountain' for several years! If you're in Winthrop make sure to hit the Winthrop Brewery (hard to miss) and you can try to PM PlugBoots (sp?) and NorCascader for more info.

Make sure to stop for a smoke break at the Washington Pass overlook.

Do you want me to FED-X your kryptonite so you can lock it until next summer's return trip?

I've been out of town working. You're reverse commuting, you'll be fine, and it's nice and cool now to finish your trip. Cool beans.

I forgot it was a holiday weekend but every weekend is a zoo in Anacortes.
I wouldn't worry about camping, I have a pretty big yard.

way to get at it frannie, the San Juans are amazing biking if you can get out there. I did a week sailing through there with bikes, kick ass place to spend some time. They are talking 1-2 feet of snow in the north cascades, I expect to see you borrowing someone's shit and skiing. Only way to compliment this epic journey.

    Thanks everyone.
In Concrete Library now, passing thru, stayed in Marblemount waiting for two other travelrs to catch up..didn't happen so I'm moving on.
TC has the right idea about borrowing stuff. A size 14 boot translates to what? I forget, 230 or is it 250 mm?? 52" poles...and some skis.
Looking at you grrr, bakerboy, or anyone.
Not sure where I'll end today but getting closer...will probably be calling your cells and, refried, you're on my San Juan hit list if I jump over there.
    Thanks again
    ps

Staying for the Mt. Baker Hill Climb. Never done anything like that. I'll need help..what kind of beer should I be drinking the night before the climb? I'm in this to win it bitches. I also need grrr pulling my ass up most of the way then break away and I go for the win. This ain't about fun. I also need cheerleaders.
    BTW
I highly recommend The Drift Cafe in Anacortes for dinner and breakfast.

    ps
refried..still looking at your place..just need to firm up flight info before I leave this library

    pps

bakerboy, I was in concrete (the town) looking for that brewery and saw none such nor did that town have that "brewery" feel :-)).. i fugured this was like that ''free beer, tomorrow" deal.....ended up finding it a few miles down the road though...great place.
you still owe me a beer :-))
