    GIMME A DOLLAR!!

Great show. Lots of fun. MSP stepped it up a notch filmography-wise. There were some really cool angles and camera action going on.

    A damn fine time.

Sucks that Sethboy had such a rough year. He still put down some nice lines and airs though.

Ingrid shows up with the best girl big mountain segment I've seen to date.

Shane's segment was amazing. It's almost like a different sport though. I guess he still had some backs, fronts, and a few lines that didn't require a chute. The kid is pushing it for sure, but comparing what he's doing to other athlete segments isn't really comparing apples to apples.

Hugo falls twice in this movie. The lesser of the falls is on one hell of a rowdy line. When it shows him at the top of the peak for the run I thought to myself "How in the hell is he going to get down from there and make it look good?" He hauled through tons of exposed rocks cranking hard turns at speed. All the while rocks are just foot or two from his skis. The he launches a 40-50 footer and doesn't quite stick it. Pretty amazing line though.

Lot's of standard flippy spinny park stuff. I'd say there was less cliff tricking in this flick then in years past. Some of the cinematography was amazing. The heli filming the slow-mo spinny flippy stuff that seemed to go across the entire sky was Be-a-utiful.

Pollard gets slid twice. Tanner lands backwards a whole bunch. Sarah Burke is riding armadas...

On the whole the movie was pretty standard. I have to say the by far the segment and break out performance came from Mark Abma. Last year he blended in with the thousand other spinny flippy park kids. This year he killed it everywhere. Best BC booter action, crazy smooth park airs. Completely insane big mountain lines. Maybe the best of the entire flick. Having not seen the other flicks yet I say he definitely get's a nomination for break-out performance and so far from this flick IMHO he also get's best performance. sick stuff.

MSP did step it up this year. As MD9 said, the cinematography was incredible. McConkey was a fackin nut as always. Solid performance all-around.

    Hey Guys,
It was good seeing all of you last night,I kinda hit the wall there at the end,Saturday worked me!

I want my Two Dollars! LB pretended to be collecting money for the Keep Shane from Sobriety fund, but in reality was really only expanding the girth of his liver!

It was good to see such a large maggot turnout last night:

    LB
    crinkle & wife
    Below Zero
    MD9 & wife
    wahamma
    The dude
    freshie
    jibij
    a pinner sighting
    and a couple more

I was a little disappointed with the movie as a whole.

    The Good:

    1. Mark Abma

    2. Cinematography-----that heli angle is amazing

    3. Ingrid's segment. She's got the skills and the good looks. It's great to watch a female charging as hard as she did in this flick.

    4. The humor.

    The Bad:

    1. Soundtrack. Maybe this one will grow on me, but one of the worst yet for any ski movie. Just didn't seem like the tunes flowed with the skiing all that much. Way too much rap.

    2. Where did all the soul go???? Much like XXX porn.....enough said.

    3. CR Johnson. How many more ski movies can this kid get away with by just throwing 3s, 7s, and ugly 1040s for 4.5 minutes straight!! Yikes. Someone hit this kid with the diversity stick.

    4. Morrison. Sucks to see one of the leaders of the sport down for the count for most of the season. He still managed to squeeze in a few sweet lines though.

    5. Powder was added to the endangered species list this year. If you're looking for powder shots in this film, make sure not to blink because you may miss 'em.

    6. Rails, park, etc.-----Much respect to the park rats for chucking their meat and hanging upside down, but it gets a little stale after watching the same thing over and over again. MSP could easily put out a jib flick and a big mountain film from all the footage they shoot each year. It seemed to work out well when TGR played with the idea a few years ago.

    Overall, I would give Yearbook a "C".

Maybe I need to watch it a few more times before I grow a liking to it. At first I didn't care too much for Focused, but it grew on me over time. Looking forward to Soul Purpose in a few weeks.

I've know the MSP boys since day one of the company and I think they're slipping. Last year's flick was a 'C' as well. I agree, after seeing 400 triple flip-a-saurus's in a row, it gets a little stale. Big reason there's so much park stuff is that it's soooooooooooo much cheaper to shoot. A-star time is something like $2,500 an hour. They can take the chairlift to the terrain parks for free. These day's there's a whole lot of folks out there that think the X-games are the only kind of skiing out there. Guess it keeps 'em out of my pow lines!!

    What he said.

Abma was awesome, and the near-matrix style jib shots a la heli was a fantastic innovation that I'd like to see carried even further.

I don't think it was quite as average as a whole as the last couple comments would have you believe. I think I'd give it a B. Then again, with grade inflation these days...

Seriously though, Gaffney said it was a REALLY tough year for filming. Keep in mind as you watch and judge that the enviroment in which they film is not always (if ever) in their control! So the footage is subject to the snow, conditions, weather, timing, and everything else. I think we forget that sometimes when we see those larger than life images on the screen.

I agree, I much prefer powder shots over anything else.It does suck that Seth went to Norway & Bella Coola, probably spending at least a month trying to get some good footage,& only found lousy conditions & injury.

I haven't been wild about most of the music in films in a while, call it subjective personal preference.

The lines that Seth was on with sketchy conditions was pretty nar.

I too think the heli angle on the booter was sweet, but they used it one too many times. Cinematography was excellent, definitely an element missing. There were some crazy lines thrown down with big mountain stylie, but not enough for me to get my fill.

I've said it before (I drunkenly regailed some the other day with it even) and I'll say it again:

    MSP = Stunts
    TGR = Lines

I am more into lines than stunts therefore I like TGR better in general.
