Can you take binding screws out and put them back in the same hole without any reduction in strength? I'm planning on painting some skis, and don't want to screw up my skis. Yes I know I'm an idiot, and this is already tech talk, biatch.

I've done it, and things seemed to work fine. I put a very healthy dose of wood glue on them though. Skis didn't really get beaten around much after that though, so I can't be sure how much stress they can take.
"I smell varmint puntang."
any other experiences? If needed I'll just mask the whole thing, but I'd rather not have to.
I've done it with no problems. As long as you thread the screw back in gently (but firmly), and use some wood glue, I think you're OK. I wouldn't want to do it ten times, though.
Sometimes it's a serious bitch getting the screws out in the first place, though.
