I want to ski too. We all do.
That said, go to college!!!
I did not want to either, I was a bit young for my class, I wanted to "catch up" by taking a summer through Europe. Parents even agreed to fund some.
Thought long and hard about it. Filled out the apps, accepted to 3 or 3 colleges for Engineering. Went to WVU, hated Eng, dropped all but 6 credits my second semested of freshman status, took a forestry class and ended up with a 3.0 GPA in Forest Resources Management. I did it ALL in college, Buzzworthy was in effect way too much, but I would not change much.
You will kick yourself hard 20 years down the road if you do not go. You grow, learn, learn what not to do, possibly get arrested, drink a lot, meet tons of women, get laid ....... but it is a part of life that many here would have never given up. It is hard, but that is what helps to make you a better person and as Kellie said, you can have your cake and eat it too. Plus the credentials later WILL pull your ass out of sling if your ass ever ends up in said situation.
I am 30 years old, I get in 15+ days or so, I have a beautiful wife and a child on the way. I own two nice cars, rent a nice house, almost done putting my wife thru grad school, have the ability to so what I want within boundaries.
I am happy.
College is priceless, and the (____) (see anti-jix thread) will fly again. Hell, I got a good 30 days or so even in college (hurt my gpa, but if I could do it again, I would do it smarter and for sure again.)
GO TO COLLEGE!!!
Edit: Without college, I would not have met my lovely wife and may not be expecting my first child in Feb. College can and will change your life.
