Soft Machine from Medusa, a local to me Tap Room. This is their first NEIPA, it is was really good.

So, I'm shopping in a local supermarket chain that's known for its awesome beer choices (trust me, double awesome) and a beer geek shows me where dates are on cans, and tells me that packaged IPA should only be two months old, max. Thoughts?
After 5 weeks is more like it. And even then, I drink it begrudgingly.
First 3 weeks is the sweet spot.

All depends on the beers. Some IPA taste great fresh, some better after a few weeks, some after a month or so. I've had 1 off the assembly line and then months later. Tasted fine, just some of the high notes are toned down.
For me, Other half is local and I've been drink them since they started. I find their beers taste better a couple weeks later rather than right away. But then there is someone like fiddle head that taste great fresh and almost the same months later.
In the end. Do what you do.

Frost coming out with some smooooothe 9.5%ers
Didn’t really care for the Alone in my Head. It’s dry hopped with vanilla beans. Totally unique, It just didn’t work for me.
The, Complexity Simplified on the other hand, very tasty. First sips out of the fridge, were kinda bland. I started cooking dinner and forgot I had cracked it. Went back to It after 15 minutes. Totally different story. The taste was like candy. Like a watermelon jolly rancher. So good a grabbed a four. I picked up a single of the Vic Secret. I’ll give that a go tonight.

^i follow that rule when trying anything new.
Did someone say Smooth Frost 9.5? Where they hide that abv? Not malty or sweet like some high and. Little stringent on finish but still amazing

I always was turned off to Otter Creek because they screwed up the OG Shed Mountain Ale when they bought the recipe and all their bitter beers. Might be worth trying again.
Had a few kid free hours today with the wife today. Gotta go back to my craft beer roots sometimes. Still love a Heady from time to time.
