101 North is gaining notoriety quickly. They brew right across from Lagunitas.

Also, TeleMike, another good brewery literally 2 blocks from Russian River is Third Street Ale Works.

Definitely a fan of 101 North.
Not a fan of 3rd Street Aleworks, though I've only been once. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable.
I'd recommend Moylans over 3rd street, just because they have some more unique beers (IMHO), such as stouts on Nitro, cask conditioned triple/quad IPAs, etc.

GF is already in CO so I'd be stoked to get some Alpine too. I think I had a few of their beers last time I was out there but it was all a blur. Sounds like a pretty cool merger if you read the article.

yea the ice harbor IPA was def a pleasant surprised. kennewick, washington brews good beer, who knew?

and I like the fresh squeezed ipa, nothing crazy special about it though, but definitely tasty.

green flash definitely makes good beer, haven't tried any alpine brews but maybe the new deal with bring them north!

i'm a big fan of mosaic and amarillo hops. I really wish breweries would list the hops used in their beers because it certainly would make choosing beers to drink much easier. on the note of mosaic hops, deschutes chasing freshies ipa is fresh hopped with mosaic but I just think the bravo hops used in brewing over power it.

yes, i mainly like lighter, more citrus-y ipa's. though top cutter and b&r ain't light.

i always liked lagunitas hop stoopid, though not sure its an ipa

my current favorite is the hop nosh so i'll have to give some of your other rec's a try

bale breaker's brewery is a cool story. hop farmers that decided to make their own beer and do it well. met the owners last year, really cool, down to earth dudes.

I had a beer last night that certainly isn't going to be for everyone, but I thought it was interesting. It's Java the Hop by Fort George and, yes, it's a coffee flavored IPA.

TeleMike- Keep an eye out for Three Monkey's IPA. They're in Madera and there stuff is on tap at least as far north as Merced, so you may see it in your area. Damn good IPA!

I've had this 3 times now and I really like it. A really unique beer. Obviously not a session beer, but worth a try for any IPA lover. In fact, all of Fort George's beers are excellent. Omegatex is unreal. Their OPA is a staple in my fridge
