I lovez me some Pliney, but the Aroma Coma I'm having right now is every bit as good. Sidecar of Sonoma Coma isn't bad either.

Been buying bombers at Costco lately, the selection isn't bad in SoCal. They had Hop Stoopid for $3.79...

It was either a Hop Notion or a Ninkasi Total Domination.

Pretty mezza mezza. Had the southern hop one earlier this summer and felt the same about it. Neither one is better than the Torpedo, IMHO.

it's gotta be the cilantro thing. because Torpedo tastes like dish soap to me most of the time. Most.

Scream IIPa from New Glarus is good. Not Pliney great, but very, very good.

Yes, it comes out for a couple weeks in the spring and goes to beer douches who wait hours in line or buy special tickets at beer douche bars

some damn good IPA's out there

Just now at Auburn Alehouse: fat stupid lady squeezes in between me and another guy and asks for a growler of Gold Digger. The (very cute) bartender tells her they're out of growlers but they have 22oz bottles. Fat stupid lady asks "how big are the 22 ouncers?" To which the bartender and the other guy and I all respond in unison "22 ounces." She said forget it and left as we were roaring with laughter at her.

FKNA the Gold Digger is delicious. I'm glad I have two growlers.

God damn it's loud in here.

Lagunitas is awesome straight out of a keg. Found that out at a wsp concert in Milwaukee. It is like candy. Out if the bottle it is hit or miss. They need to can it and ship it to Iowa.

    ^^^Agreed.

Also was on the Grapefruit Sculppin till I thought it tasted rusty? Guess I wasnt the only one. They have a new brew out and it barely tastes like grapefruit anymore-I know kinda fruit booter- but pretty good nevertheless.

I think Founders only makes good beer. IIRC the brewmaster is a friend of The AD.

Thats a very good point, I had it at a Giants game once and it was extra nice. It was a brand new kiosk and the taps were super clean. I think all beer is subject to shipping and storage issues as well as dirty taps.

I need to go the brewery and suck the tit.

Crazy. I met the brewmaster (Jeremy) at Savor this year, and we talked for 20 minutes or so. Really good dude, and really humble, especially considering the cult status some of his beers (KBS) have achieved. I wish I'd known I could've played 6 degrees of TGR...

    Ha!

For that matter the brewmaster at the Bristol in Colorado Springs is an old very good friend of mine if anybody needs some Iowa street credentials...he introduced me to my first west coast style IPA probably 1`4 years ago when he brought me a growler from the Bristol. I called it a marijuana beer at the time and I was hooked shortly thereafter. Unfortunately I haven't seen or heard from him in years except by stalking him on the Bristol FB page. Good guy. Looks like the brewery has really taken off.

Jeremy is listed as head brewer. My friend Alec is "director of brewing operations" whatever that means!
