Too lazy to take a picture at the moment but Exhibit A The Cats Meow is a fantastic beer! Grapefruit heaven, thanks Exastronaut.

Not meant as a dis on the boys but I would choose UM or Panic over them any night at this point, sorry. Similar to how if the Dead and Phish were playing the same night withinin my 5hr radius from 93 on, it was an easy decision.

Late edit to include TTB, who are definitely one of the top (if not best) touring band going right now.

    Oh. My. God.
Panic or Umph’s over Vermont’s Phinest? No, just, no guy.
    I’m about to go apeshit.

Do what makes you feel good but the truth is, Trey's playing is diminishing, it's reality guy. Jams are still good even sometimes great but listen to Maze, Divided or First Tube and tell me honestly he still "has" it, you can't. Mike has been carrying the band since 2.0, although a Page night is still $.

Wrong thread so I'll save it for a face to face debate at K one day. Love the band more than anyone but the best days are 20+ yrs gone, much better music to be seen live in 2018.

Huge gordo fan, he drives the jams. I never cared about the composed sections of Phish. That shit is for geeks. I went to school on Jerry circa 84-85. Ragged but right. Trey freaking kills it on the long jams. Just listen to the Jibbo or ASIHTOS from this past New Years. I was there. He still freaking rules.

I love all their shit- I’ve tried the Danko IPA, Hair Raiser DIPA, a dry hopped pale ale (name escapes me), cats meow, and their rotating sour, all of which I thought were outstanding. Quality across the board... and I guess that Kolsch Ale is supposed to be great too.

I'm going to rate this one right up there with Swish. I only received one of each.

^ I believe the Cat’s Meow is their flagship ipa. I see it around the most and it is excellent. I loved all the beers I listed out.

Cat's Meow is their single and Hair Raiser their double, stuff is solid for sure.

Hazy, but not in a good way.

depends on how long the can sat and how much got disturbed.

here's an IPA I hated. The Sierra Nevada "No Middle Ground" Coffee-IPA. Ugh.

Sometimes you get some floaters in the Crusher and I guess this too. They settle to the bottom and I just dump the last 1/2 sip. Doesn’t affect the taste for me but I’d rather they not be there.

So I was told the cloudyness of neipa is just added calories and doesn't necessarily affect taste all that much. I have no idea if that is true or not. I've rinsed cans after pouring into a glass and whole bunch of crud comes out. Doesn't look very appetizing, but the beer always is so damn satisfying.

Hazy I get, floaters are gross. Kind of surprised the chemist released it looking like that.

All of The Alchemist beers are unfiltered, if you don't like the look of floaters drink it from the can.

Any Hazy IPA and many not-so-hazy IPAs will eventually have floaties if stored in a can or bottle. It's a product of the hop polyphenols and proteins bonding. I would guess you've drank a shitload of floaties in your NEIPAs and not noticed it because of the hazy. Oats and wheat, which are added to give NEIPAs their trademark haze are high in protein, and they have a shitload of hop polyphenols as well. Dry hopping especially, adds significant polyphenols.

It is a sign that the beer isn't at its freshest, but it's not the end of the world and it won't make you sick or anything. The beer probably still tastes pretty good.

The haze is actually a result more of the proteins from the malt and the yeast, than the hops, and it does effect mouthfeel, and possibly keeps the hop polyphenols in suspension longer (I'm just guessing on that). Just like an Oatmeal Stout, your going to get that soft, creamy mouthfeel.
