Pour grammar never takes a holiday. I've hung out with Tomme Arthur (you know pizza port guy/lost abbey) he was a prick at first but warmed up after I poured his beer for a few hours. Extreme Beer Fest years ago. That's how I imagine buttahboy, not a douche once ya get to know him. Maybe he can school us all on giving proper head. Pooring ... I meant pouring.

New one from Bent Hill. As with most of their beers for me (aside from blood orange ipa), not bad but lacking any real reason for me to go back for more. A little too much going on with a lack of overall balance. Some mango, grapefruit rind hints with a strange piney/earthy and alcohol heavy finish.

How's the pour lookin, I'm open to criticism?

Clearly, Gramma knows how to work a proper rim job.

    i enjoyed my pour poor.

pizza port was part of my formative years. the beach below the solano beach pub was great to late night tandem bodysurfing. their beer festivals in carlsbad were excellent, though nobody seems to remember much from them. last time i was at either solano beach or carlsbad pubs, it was bonkers and too much, which is always unfortunate.... damn internet.

Never been there but I've had a bunch of the beers. Lost Abbey is usually over the top good. It's late here on the east coast, gotta get some sleep. Will post more when the sun rises.

Russian river and all the others (including stone, though stone and pizza port are close friends) followed suit. Pliny the younger is usually more highly regarded than the elder, btw.

There's a dude that owns a bottle shop/beer bar somewhere in San Leandro and another in NH or VT that is cross pollinating a fair bit in distributing the styles.

Another amazing IPA style that I have not seen discussed in this thread is the cask-style IPAs of england and Scotland. My wife and I spent several weeks cruising around with photocopied pages of a recent cambra guide about 15 years ago. Our time in Scotland coincided with the annual Scotland cambra IPA contest and we were lucky enough to enjoy several fresh pulls of the top 5 or so ales. That's some amazing shit, and very different from the style found around these parts.
Interesting. And yeah, I know Younger is considered better, but like MBC Dinner out here, it's limited and difficult to get.

OK, ok.... I WILL drink it out of a can, but only when DIPA drunk, after 11pm, while skiing under the lights at my buddies private ski hill

I had the chance to do some Eastern MA brewery adventures while back last week. Did Jacks/Springdale, Exhibit A, Trillium, and Start Line in Hopkington. Jacks is great, per usual. Springdale was doing good stuff, but Exhibit A and Start Line were on their way to doing great things. Some fantastic brews from those guys. Trillium, well, they are going to take the Boston area by storm in my opinion.

I think they already have. So tasty! (thanks Binky!)

Bummed I missed your stop in the other week. What did you think of the beers? Was it Farnham and lush?

Yup, the DIPA from Farhnam was slightly different, but delicious. Did that, the EPA, Hoppy Lager, and Lush from Frost. Lush is fantastic. Just grabbed some of the Roadhouse Brewing Pales and IPA's from Jackson, will report back.
