    Pemberton rocks

We had the pleasure of riding one the finest uphills we've ever ridden. NIMBY is a very new fresh bench-cut loam uphill/downhill line that snakes up the road towards the CopKiller paraglider lookout in Pemberton. It comes out just above OS. It's a wonder of route-finding, always seeming to find a nice pedallable grade up the hill. Such a treat to ride beautiful new singletrack.

Then we rode Overnight Sensation as the old standby down the hill

I need to come ride Pemberton, Whistler-area, and Squamish. Early October, maybe? Still rideable then? You and S around then?

    That looks fun...

How many miles are in that area? Seems every time I here Pemberton it's a different trail.

After Overnight Sensation we rode Cream Puff back down to the valley for a nice escape from the crowds at the Whistler Bike Park

gb - it's probably too much driving. Grand Canyon is a loooooong way from CB. Shar and I are thinking dedicated trip necessary.

Pemby has a network thats big. Something like 40 trails + and counting and most are like this. The new stuff has more variety too - less of the straight down the fall line Nelson style. Whistler's network is bigger and I think Squamish's network might be even bigger.

I rode cream puff last week for the 1st time in 4 yrs or so and was disappointed at how blown out it's become. There's so many cheater lines, I almost got lost at the top. The rock stuff in the middle is still awesome, but I think Pemby trails see way too much shuttle traffic, so good on ya Lee for actually peddling up!

Thats why I like the stuff that's a bitch to get to. You get a good workout climbing up, never see anybody and the trails stay in good shape.

Bummer you won't be making it this year, LL. No need to rush a trip all the way down here just to get a couple of days when you could be entertained by new trails for weeks.

Powder11, yeah, it's really just the rock sections that I remember from my trip last year as being really unique and fun. Other parts of the trail are pretty trashed for sure but since that was my first and only time riding it, it didn't seem as bad for me as it might for someone who has ridden it for a while. Dside11-11, Z, and squirrelmurphy are all completely enamored with a trail around here that is good, but every time I ride it I think of how much better it was a few years ago before the motos thrashed it.

Lee if you come back to Calgary some time, there are a bunch of new trails built, and being built on Moose Mountain, we rode one of them, Pneuma a little while ago and it was a sweet single track climb from Upper Sulphur loop, just a little before the Moose road, almost all the way to the top parking lot. What a treat to be able to climb up there without having to breath in dust from the shuttle people. There is also supposed to be a great new run coming down, just before the top of Pneuma, that drops down to Tom Snow called Race of Spades, talked to some guys who rode it and they said it was a blast, fast flowy, bermed and optional features for the hucking crowd. Meant to get back and ride it as a loop but the weather went to crap and then I had my knee done, so no more riding for me this year.

Anyways, you have probably seen this, but here is a link to the new trail info:

Amen to that. I've noticed some 'unshuttle-able' trails that were popular before the 50lb bikes are starting to 'regenerate'.

Is there too much snow to ride the Mosquito Lake area right now? I am going to Whistler for opening, but skiing conditions might not be that great. Is it worth bringing my bike up?
