I'm sorry dude - it always sucks to hear bad news, especially ski season endangering bad news. I know you'll pound that rehab into the ground and be back out on those skis ripping the shit as hardcore as ever. Good luck and the best of vibes sent.

I hate hearing this news and i know that there isn't much any of us can say to make you feel better, but you know that so many of us have been in this exact place, myself included.

I took a deep breath and realized that yep, my knee is blown, but there is nothing that can change that, so it helped me to keep a positive attitude and i swear my motivation to be a better skier and work hard to make it strong after surgery was huge.

I am more motivated now than i ever have been.

You will learn from this, no matter if you think this is a bullshit statement or not and you will never, ever take advantage of skiing and all it's aspects ever again.

Good luck and i'm thinking of you.

    Sorry, Shoe.

I'm motivated to stretch the hell out of my leg muscles and work out like a fiend every time I hear about season-ending knee injuries.

Ty, that royaly sucks, but don't get too down. I went in to get my meniscus repaired two years ago on October 15th. They told me before surgery I would be walking just fine in a week. A week later I go in for my post-op check up on crutches wondering why the hell I can't walk. The doctor informs me that when I went in they found a major bone bruise and had to basically scoop out the end of my femur (right in the joint) in order to get the bone to grow back. He told me I wouldn't be skiing that winter. I stayed on crutches until the middle of November, and then I started doing rehab at home everyday. January 1 I was skiing 3 foot fresh at Alta and The Bird. With a speedy recovery you are looking at 2 weeks for the meniscus, 4-6 for the ACL and the bone bruise will very depending on how bad it is. I realize that what I just wrote isn't the greatest news, but I have full confidence you will be skiing at 90% by January 1st. Good Luck and if you have any questions feel free to pm me.

That's a tough one. Had my knee done two season's back. rehab is a bitch, but much better than a shoulder if that is any consolation. Tore my right rotator a number of years ago and THAT rehab really bites. Hang tough, and you will be skiing by January. My sympathy and good vibes are with you. For now, drinking definately helps.

heh....I'm still in the process of rehabbing my shoulder after popping it out in July. Just recently graduated from therabands to free weights...and yes, it bites

irul -- Dr. Marter. Kings doctor. Coulda went for Heiden, but he wasn't available until November.

thanks everyone....going out on the bike now while there's still an hour of light left. Got a century (www.auburncentury.com) with 10,000 ft of climbing to ride this weekend

    Damn. Damn, dood.

A lot of us have been there and know what you're up against. Listen to AC and the others-- you've got a rough spell ahead, but you will be back strong.

And, you can get yourself a new computer now, which is nice.
    It's idomatic, beatch.

So sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can get the surgery asap and grab a few days towards the end of the season. After that, I see you ripping up South America to make up for the early season losses.

Best of luck and positivity sent your way.

    Bummer shoe.
I know it won't be easy this winter, with those bro models staring at you as they lean up against the wall. But you'll come back stronger than before, and until then, you've got plenty of maggots to lean on who have been there (and for drinking buddies). Hit that rehab HARD dude.

That blows!!! Is this from that evening of soccer? This totally sucks. The kid's part of company that develops a new ski for this season and then he get's sidelined before getting to use it. Damn that's rough. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery. I was hoping you'd enter the bird comp with me.

Damn Shoe, sorry to hear that. Heal up quick.
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

    Unhappy

That sucks dude. My guess is you tore your ACL awhile ago and just recently tore your meniscus because your ACL was gone. That's how it went for me.

Get at that rehab within a day of surgery and dont stop.... I know you wont. With your attitude you'll be making spring turns for sure!

That sucks dude. But ask AC if you can borrow her attitude to get you through the winter!

Oh, and all the money you'll save should take you far next summer on the annual Splatitude through SA...

    Sorry, bro - that sucks.

I second the idea of borrowing Liz's attitude for a while - channel those positive vibes.
