Maggette help needed(Somewhat Victoria Secret Related)

I have a major crisis on my hands,
Pre-Baby I had bought my wife a bunch of slinky little nightgowns and other such "fun things" that she used to wear to bed. Well last night she tried to wear one, it didn't fit so well, she tried another, nope, literally she went through everything in the drawer and not one of them fit(according to her and we all know thats the most important) Needless to say her self esteem is shot, HELP WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?!?! I think she looks great, she's lost almost all of her pregnancy weight but she is really down I'm thinking about buying her something sexy but I don't know where to go since if I remember right VS is really small...... I don't know what would be a good pick me up for her???

    THANKS A LOT LADIES!!

Make sure to use that exact phrase.

Normally, I like this response. But that is usually WHEN IT IS APPROPRIATE!!! For god's sake, this is his wife and mother of his new born baby!!!

I don't know, I might be wrong but when woman aren't feeling so great about their bodies, that is usually not the time to buy them any clothes, particulary something from VS.

I would say that she needs to be pampered for a day or weekend. Maybe a day or weekend at a spa.

If you never bought your wife anything you wouldn't have this problem.

Brilliant - or you should have bought her a pair of Bro Models, they would still fit her after the pregnancy.

If she was skinny before the baby, she won't be pleased about her figure until she's skinny again. She can either accept her new figure or do what it takes to change it, which can be a challenge. Maybe you can give her the gift of time to go to the gym or to go running or biking or whatever she likes to do for exercise - you can take care of your baby, right? And I don't know if you eat a lot of sweets, but I wouldn't be asking her to make anything like that or buy it and bring it into the house.

It's great that you are making it clear that you think she's a hottie.

Maybe you could show up to bed wearing the lace panties and teddy.

Hahahaha, POTD! and it's only 9:40 AM. I have no real advice to offer, being only 15 and all, but that was damn funny. Obviously you've never seen Laser in person, if you had, you would know that's a scary propostion.

I'd say tell her that you absolutely will not tolerate having an overweight wife. Baby or not, she better lose it, or you'll kick her to the curb.

I have a practical answer for you here. Yes, you can still get her VS stuff...but forgo the thong-and-merrywidow scene. Pick her up a short silk chemise and/or "babydoll" style nightgown. These are not "fitted" styles, but still very sexy (especially w/ the post-baby womanly curves). You will both appreciate the comfort and the sexiness.

Oh, and those thigh-high stocking things? Get her those too.

Get yourself to the mall man! And you're a good guy for thinking of her feelings in this regard.

Why did I know that sprite's answer would be the best one?

Last night Gwyneth Paltrow was on Conan. She recently had a baby, and her husband wrote her a song that goes like this:

"Your cup went up from A to D
That's bad for you but fun for me"

Write that on a card or something.

i think snowsprite had a great idea. even if she isn't back to the size she was before, she -can- have clothes that fit her now and make her feel good about it. and if you can get your hands on a VS catalog, they have a much bigger selection than the shop in the mall.

and the day at the spa was also an excellent idea. i'd say go two for two, but be careful, sometimes women are still self concious about themselves and don't want to be all naked in a spa, so you'll have to gauge that one out. or maybe choose specific things like pedicure, manicure, hair, and facial type stuff, or a massage she doesn't have to get undressed for. it all depends on her there. some women woudln't care in the least at any size.

also, maybe you guys should do something like going for walks with the baby in a stroller everyday after dinner? win/win for everyone

and why not buy her some new skis and take her on a ski vacation? i'm pretty sure that would cheer me up real quick

Most of the "girls" on this thread have given good advice.

Go with the maggettes' suggestions of pampering, different styles of sexy stuff. Show her you still find her irresistable.

    You're sweet for doing this.
