Just wanted to point that out. I read a couple others boards and they don't come close to providing the stoke I get here. It comes down to the people--we have an incredible group here. Thanks to Owens and TGR for hosting this!

What made me think of this? On another board I read, someone posted about how terrible a person Amanda Beard (the swimmer) is for going on the Howard Stern show (her interview was shown on Howard's E! show last night). Anyway, one of this poster's points was that Amanda said she has dated black guys. Someone called the guy out for being racist and here's his/her response (and yes, it's in all caps):

I'AM NOT AN "IGNORANT RACIST". AS A MATTER OF FACT SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE BLACK LIKE JOHN DOWN THE STREET AND YANCY OUR GARDNER. NOW BACK TO THE POINT AT HAND. I CHOSE TO POST THOSE TWO QUESTIONS FROM HOWARD BECAUSE IF YOU HAD SEEN THE INTERVIEW (WHICH YOU OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T) THE OTHER QUESTIONS HOWARD ASKED WERE TOTALLY OBSCENE AND WEREN'T MEANT TO BE POSTED ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD.

A LOT OF YOU GUYS MAY THINK I'M "ANTI-AMANDA BEARD" BUT I'M NOT. I JUST WANT THE YOUNG LADY TO BE MORE RESPECTFUL, CROSS HER LEGGS IN PUBLIC, AND LEARN TO INTERVIEW BETTER. SHE COULD ACTUALLY HAVE LUCRATIVE CAREER IN THE ENTERTAINMENT FIELD BUT NOBODY IS GOING TO RESPECT A WOMAN THAT ACTS "TRASHY". I MEAN HONESTLY, DO YOU GUYS THINK BRITTNEY SPEARS, CHRISTINA AGUILLERA, JESSICA SIMPSON, AND BEYONCE KNOWLES WOULD BE RESPECTED IF THEY HAD TO STOP SINGING AND FLAUNTING THEIR BODIES? L NO!!!!

IN MY HONEST OPINION, BEARD IS SETTING THE SWIMMING COMMUNITY BACK 15-20+ YEARS WITH THIS SLUTTY TYPE OF BEHAVIOR. SOME OF YOU LIBERALS OUT HERE THINK ITS OK AND I'M PRETTY SURE YOUR THE SAME ONE'S THAT THINK GAY MARRIAGE IS OK BUT I'M HERE TO TELL YOU US CONSERVATIVES ARE HERE TO STRAIGHTEN OUT AMERICA.

I have to agree with AD on the board. I spend some time on rockclimbing.com and their forum is tolerable at best. They have a bunch of holier than thou moderators which gets old, quick. Too many old crusty trad climbers who nit pick everything. Thankfully we have an awesome moderator. Granted, he lets us create our own cess pool, but hell, it feels like home.

Pretty funny thread that AD posted. Mr. ALLCAPS manages to shoot himself in the foot every single post. What a shocker that Amanda Beard has had sex!

I should just laugh at how ignorant ALLCAPS is, but actually it just makes me mad. I've got to admit I'm kind of shaking just thinking about it. It's amazing the kind of reaction a few words can invoke.
