I just got a Mini I-Pod. Is there anyway to interface with my stereo w/out the FM deal? Any type of digital audio in solution?
Thanks

does your stereo have RCA type audio inputs? i guess i don't know if you're talking car or home stereo. anyways...can't you buy an adapter to go from headphone jack to RCA output and connect to stereo that way?
something like this -
if your stereo has a tape deck you can buy one of those dealies that goes from the headphone jack to a special tape that will play the tunes. They're like $20
thats new hampshire as fuck
We ain't eager to be legal, so please leave me with the keys to your Jeep Eagle.
Ipod mini dock
You can also get a unit which transmits the ipod audio via fm signal, but not for the mini, yet.
Nice if you want to play it in the car, also.
I think that's what I'm going to do too...I have an iBook, and using the AAC format I have about 12 gigs of music on my computer - just over half the hard drive space! However, that's ALL of my CDs, over 200 or so. Car-tripping has become a royal pain in the ass for me, as the CD case I use is gargantuan. So, I think I'll buy the 40GB iPod, and slap the FM tuner on it...no more CDs to lug with me, just the iPod.Originally posted by optics

Just buy a new BMW and you won't need the FM transmitter: http://www.bmwusa.com/ipod/Originally posted by Jumper Bones

I'm really surprised VW didn't hit that pinata first. Seems like their kind of gimmick.Originally posted by The AD

foggy - you getting anything figured out?
word to the wise, if you buy an aftermarket CD player for your vehicle make sure to get one that has an auxillary input of some kind. RCA type or a input on the front panel. opens up a bunch of options...
Home home stereo receiver and the cd player in my truck are both blown up so I'm in the market for some new stuff. Hooking up the I-Pod is of prime importance. I'll let you know what I find.Originally posted by xboat
