    snowfall predections for 2004?

paging all weather-geeks. can anyone point me to some good sites that may have snowfall predections for the coming season? NOAA usually has there predections out this time of year, just haven't been able to locate them. also, whats the scoop on el nino? are they calling for one this winter?

am hoping it dumps early and often everywhere

    noaa site

Front page headlines anounce the return of el Nino. "El Niño conditions have developed in the tropical Pacific and are expected to last through early 2005..."

    whole story

At this time it is not clear what, if any, impacts this event will have on ocean temperatures in the classical El Niño region along the west coast of South America and on temperature and precipitation in the United States.

    Yes. Hail Ullr! [/semi-antijinx...]

With this ridiculous hurricane season, you might expect for us to get paid back somehow... We'd better! (But just not to jinx it: it's ok if not...)
    Days on snow 06-07: 3
    Days behind a boat summer 2006: 24

It will not suck to be in Taos or the San Juans this year, judging from Milton's map.

Here's a map and description of what effect El Nino has.

Wetter southwest? I like polar jet stream for some NE lake effect too.

I don't know about satellite stuff but the ol' farmers signs work well for me.

The maples have changed colors early and the aspens are changing colors late, very good sign.

Winter bird's nests are huge, another good sign.

The ground is wet and temps are nicely, slowly dropping.

Oh, and my fingers are crossed.
