paging all weather-geeks. can anyone point me to some good sites that may have snowfall predections for the coming season? NOAA usually has there predections out this time of year, just haven't been able to locate them. also, whats the scoop on el nino? are they calling for one this winter?
am hoping it dumps early and often everywhere

Well the good news is that a el nino winter is ussually followed by a la nina, and last time we had a la nina winter we only got 1100 inches

I don't know about satellite stuff but the ol' farmers signs work well for me.
The maples have changed colors early and the aspens are changing colors late, very good sign.
Winter bird's nests are huge, another good sign.
The ground is wet and temps are nicely, slowly dropping.
Oh, and my fingers are crossed.

hmmm, those maps looked promising....above avg precip in the Sierra Nevada if they are to be believed. All I know is last El Nino brought some serious dumpage to Tahoe......
