Consequences of using freeride binding that's too long?

Found a pair of freerides in Long. With a boot size of 10, standard is really the right size. Could a long work? I assume you could just move the heel up further on the rail, that there isn't a 'stop'. What would be the consequences/potential risks?

longer shaft and shorter boot on the binding = more flex = more chance of the dreaded "change into walk mode while turning/hucking"

should be fine for most of the time.

Had that kind of thing long years back not on a Fritschi but a Silvretta binder, problem should be similar though.
For ascent didn't make a difference. But I clearly felt lacking stability/stiffness due to more flex on the binder during decent which was pretty annoying. Plus the flex affected the release - the skis did not come off when they should have. That caused me to exchange the long for the correct size later on.

    Hope that helps.

Longer bar == more leverage == greater likelihood of bending the bar.

I've done it all last seaon with a 335 mm boot sole and did'nt have any problems with the long. Moved to medium this year because the extra length on the bars looks really gay when its either in locked or touring mode.
