    thanks (nsr)

i'm off to go attempt my first marathon which will be held up in erie, pa.

thanks to everybody who had words of advice, helpful suggestions and otherwise helped me reach this point. the toughest work is behind me, and now i just have to step up and get it done. my head is full of thoughts, most of them positive. a small part of me is scared, but that should help me along.

hopefully i'll have some good things to put into a TR for y'all upon my triumphant return. thanks again.

    last words of advice:

Don't wear a sweater vest with penny loafers. Mile 20 will kick your ass if you're wearing shit like that.

Good luck, dood. Oprah ran a 4:30. So beating her is always a good goal.

no worries. during training, the pennies kept falling out of my loafers so i switched to some sneakers.

the race was a great time. thanks to my brother, who ran the second half with me, i was able to maintain and get across the finish line. reached my goal of finishing in under four hours! came across just before 3:50, and am a bit sore but otherwise doing just fine.

good times, good times. i'm pretty sure that i was the only person who finished that quickly who was weighing in at well over 200 pounds. next time, i'll cut back on the beers and such more than a day before race time.
