Anyone ski this.

Looking for a review for the Head monster 103. If anyone has rocked this ski in a 193 . Let me know your opinions. I need a beefy ski that will last, not some 10 days to delam POS. thanks freshuan

They rip. Gotta start to lift some weights though, I've lost weight and muscle mass in the summer time significantly...the skis are going to kick my skinny ass seriously if I don't start training soon...

I can't find it with search function anymore, but I saved my own copy of the following comparison between m103's and BigDaddy's (and it mentions the Flexon Tanker as well), posted long ago by a member here who might wish to remain anonymous---we'll see if he chimes in. He used to telemark m103 193cm before a different ski company bought his loyalty.

Here it is:

The Big Daddy floats better, though tha M103 is so stiff and well-dampened that it busts through everyting in it`s way - but also takes a little commitment in some places. BigDaddy's are heavy, m103s are even heavier. m103s bust crud better than the BigDaddy, though with the snow we had this winter I would`ve been happy on BDs as well.

The M103 being way way better dampened and crud busting than the BigDaddy. The Tanker is better dampened than the BD, The BD floats better (and most noticably easier as it`s softer out front) than the M103. The biggest drawback to the M103 is the input required to drive it properly. Anyone can sort of ski it; but in order to get it to show it`s best at speed or in crud one needs to be pretty aggressive; also a bit of weight isn`t bad to have. For most people there are better skis out there. The BD is very impressive in that it offers good flotation and decent (well good, I`m M103 influenced) stability while it can still be skied by most good (what I`d call good, not "expert skier" good) skiers. And for all but the most aggressive or heavy the BD will bust crud with the best. And it does some nice carvy turns on groomed snow as long as we`re not talking really hard stuff. That said, with the right pilot the M103 is hands down the fastest groomer ski (watch oiut for patrol though) as it`s got the best speed dampening on groomers that I`ve seen so far except in comp-stock SuperG skis. That and a 45 metre turn radius and you`re going to want to hit the brakes before the ski starts chattering.

The movable BigDaddy binding frickin rocks. Move back for float, move forward for carve/edge.

All but a very few would most likely hate the M103 for anything but very open terrain, because it is so stiff. However I like it as it is as I tend to be one of those few who can make them turn around everywhere; and thus prefer the extra stiffness as it`s also very stable when hauling ass. But I must admit that I have yet to meet someone over here of your "frame size" that didn`t get a spanking from them.

Compared to something like the Monster 103 the BD is a walk in the park.

NOTE: not sure, but it's possible the quote above is referring to the TEAMSTOCK m103 193cm, which may be even stiffer than the production model of m103 193cm. Also, I think he mentioned back then that the production was inconsistent, so I think he recommended hand flexing many at the shop and then picking the 2 stiffest in the bunch. He also said he wished they'd make the m103 longer, like a 203cm.
