Hero - if you liked Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Just saw it last night. Pretty cool - but not nearly as cool as CT, HD. The effects were similar as was the story telling nature of it, but I think they didn't do quite as god a job as they did the first time around.

If I had to compare, I'd say this movie was a mix between Crouching Tiger and The Usual Suspects.

Take with that what you will...

Oh, and entirely in sub-titles. Did not know that going in...

i wasn't sold. the drama was so heavy-handed that it was difficult for me to warm up to any character in the movie, something that i didn't have any trouble doing with ct, hd.

i guess my main beef with this movie is that it took itself way too seriously for my liking and for a subject as huge as the unification of china, it came up short. to its credit, it had an interesting operatic feel.

I thought this movie was beautiful. Heavy-handed? Sure. Short on historical perspective? Okay. But stunning to watch and listen to.

hero is way better than cthd. by far. by alot. i'm not even entering into this conversation.

i havent seen the Noram relese so i don't know if its different from the chinese version, but the original is up there on my all time list.

I thought it was a truly beautiful movie. Although my feeble mind keep getting confused with the names, which made it a little difficult to follow.

The fight over the water was something else.

Zhang Ziyi is really hot I mean smokin' I wish I could have saw more of her then the other chick.

The story was kinda lame but it was shot so awesome that it made up for it. ALong with the kick ass action scenes who needs a great plot?
