All in all, 4 days, 6 new slot canyons, 9 rappels, 4 cases of beer, 4 people seen, swimming in the Colorado...ane dcoming home desert red.

Gotta love the SW slot canyons. A world into it's own. Suprisingly incredibly dangerous places the more you think about it.

I'm leaving the heartland of slot canyons, but your TR makes me want to roadtrip for more next year.

That just looks like it was no fun at all...

Did it rain at all while you were there, or just look threatening and scare you while you were in the slots? I was in a canyon somewhere south-west of Moab once (many moons ago - I forget where, since they tend to look alike,) it started raining, and we immediately headed straight up. Within 15 minutes the whole damn slot seemed to be full of rushing water. Thank goodnes for the internet these days - back then we had no weather radar to look at before heading out...

Stoy; Very nice! Where were ya? South of Hanksville? Those kinda look like the Henrys but I can't really tell. Or maybe the Abajos?

I might have wussed out on that 30' dry fall descent and thrown an anchor around something up there - those things scare the crap outta me...

We got chased off a mesa on our second day because of the incoming storm. Scary as hell being up there with nothing taller than you and lightning slamming all around while thunder cracks overhead. Never ran so fast in my life to get off a 'mountain' and reach safety. We bailed on that day and only got one slot in...drank the rest of the day.

THe other days were just amazing. perfect time to be slotting it up. RB....be reminded of my title..maybe that will inform you where we were. If not, I'll tell. And that 30' dry fall...we were going up. No way would I go down. NO WAY! Getting in would have been death defying.

Track...we talked about that very notion one night after coming out of the tightest, darkest, and loneliest of places. F-ing scary what would happen. There would be no way to rescue someone from above, meaning, the group would have to work together exceptionally well to get through it all. The person injured would really have to become a 'man' to endure the pain and agony of moving through those.

we definitely are glad we came out relatively uninjured...except for some bloody forearms, knees, and legs. The raspberries hurt in the shower!!!
