    Well that really sucked

So I'm out at Christina Lake and I decide to go for a ride. My wife & dad come along so I figure it will be mellow so I leave the armor in my truck. I'm riding up the deer point trail climbing like a mountain goat. We get to the top of the first summit and start down the trail. It is a lovely trail cut into the mountain side with a really steep drop off to the lake on one side. So I'm charging down the trail probably faster than I have ever ridden it in the twenty or so years I have been riding the trail. I blaze around a corner and think "I should slow down, it would really suck to ride off the edge." But no, I don't listen to myself. I drop into a little gully and across a "bridge." The trail was built for walking so the transition to the flattened log is a bit rough. I almost rode of the log into the rock pile on the high side which would have been about a 1 foot drop to jaged rocks. I'm carrying too much speed and after narowly escaping a slight drop to jagged rocks my bike decides to wander over to the other side of the log and my front tire drops into oblivion. Everything seems in slo mo as I think "Fuck this is really going to suck." It is about a 6' drop to jagged boulders. As my body begins it's decent to the boulders I lunge for a small tree (2" max), and think, "Gotta save the new bike, fuck this is going to suck hard." I manage to grab the base of the tree just as my shin contacts the jagged top of a boulder. I colapse in a heap with my bike slamming down upon the back of my leg giving me a wicked charley horse in my calf. I extricate myself from my bike and crawl up to the trail to walk it off. Ya right, No walking this off. So I lay down and wait for the "I think I'm gonna puke" feeling to go away. Eventually I start to feel human again and look at my shin, no blood. Just a big white dent in my shin. Eventually I get it together and roll along a little farther but I'm not into it anymore so I turn around. As I'm crossing the "bridge" I encounter a german lady who is very concerned with the blood now pouring down my leg. "Oh, you are bleedink. Vould you like a .....strip?"

I don't even know what I impacted with my left ankle or my left tricept but the have nice bloody trail rash on them.

I was however, sucessful, I saved my bike. I little scrape on the rear rim. The rim is still true and my rotor is still straight. I'm thinking I may have bashed the caliper out of alighment because I have a slight friction that was not there prior to eating shit.

Next time I'm wearing my fucking armor.
    You are what you eat.

Glad you and the bike survived. You'll probably have nightmares about that wreck, sometime in the future.

But now you're suppose to post the pics of the deed.
I want a 6" travel 20lb MTB. I found the 20lb MTB, but only good for riders under 87 pounds.

Good save. I'm with you, armor should always be on (I need mine in my driveway).

    WOULD IT!?!"
