04/05 AK Rocket LAB mounting point moved?

I just got a pair of Salomon AK Rocket Labs (swallowtailed). It looks like Salomon have moved the mounting point 3 cm backwards compared to last years model. I really liked last years ski and I am not sure that I want to move the boot centre back. Unfourtunately I no longer have the old pair from last year so I can´t do a direct comparasion. There is two marks on the ski. One small "hole" and one more traditional small line. On my last years swallows theese two where at the same point, but now the line is 3cm more backwards and looks to be very far back. I´m not sure if it´s just a graphical difference. Do anyone have both this years edition and the last years to make a comparasion? Anyone heard anything about a new boot centre?

Btw. Apart from this mensioned change and some very small graphical differences the skis look and seem to flex exactly as the previous version.

Thanks for the info mntlion. Exactly what I needed.

Seldon, bad_roo & JumperB > I´ve been around without posting for a while since Powmag forum went to sleep. I´m from Sweden and all shorts and shit is not easy to understand for a skier with limited english knowledge. Wtf does the obscenely frequently used expression JONG mean? Never understood that. Must be something close to what we call "prylbög" in Sweden.

Those boys are like the long time convicts from the prison...

Bad roo is da boss, and Seldon é posse are his bitches.

Now, since you have only 1 post, you are their biatch, and they will deflower you.

After couple of hunderd posts MNO, you´ll get your own entourage and start to mock all the new dudes with only 1 post.

So wellcome to the board, JONG!

PS. Jong menar nåt som "snorvalp", "ny,men lite förvirrad kille" eller " prylbög" som du sag...

    Info to anyone who's interested:

Now I have measured my skis. The boot centre line is 84,5 cm:s from the end of the tail, which means that the mark has been moved 2,5 cm:s back this year.

Don´t know how I will mount them yet.

My AK Labs are mounted at the old mark. They're weird to ski. I like them...but they don't immediately feel stable. after a few runs i sort it out and get my confidence back....

anyhow, obviously moving them back will make them more stable. has anybody skied them at both marks? any recommendations? don't wanna drill a whole buncha holes in 'em...but i'm willing to experiment.

I'm not sure exactly how much they moved it back, I'd say about an inch. I layed my old skis next to the new ones and drew a line from the old ones to the new ones. I've tried both and like the old mounting point much better.
