    I hate weathermen

They are all idiots. Three different guys have given me three different stories on what this hurricane is doing. All this within the last 5 minutes. One guy was saying how the storm has lost a lot of it's intensity, and we are just about ready to breathe a sigh of relief. Then, this guy from the Nat. Hurricane Ctr comes on the show and basically calls the guy out for giving people a false sense of security. Turns out the storm is getting it's shit back together in the warm Gulf Stream.

Do these people learn nothing? 3 weeks ago, Charley went from a Cat2 to a Cat4 in 20 minutes. What is different this time? I think I would rather know nothing, instead of this emotional rollercoaster they put us through.

All those fuckers want is to be the first to report something. Drives me nuts. If they guess right, then we get to hear about how well they called the storm for the next 6 months. How about just getting it right, or admitting you don't know what the hell it is going to do.

Seriously though, I lived in Florida during High School and College, and was there during Hurricane Andrew. Personally, when I was on TV during hurricane season I always played it on the safe side and never contradicted the National Hurricane Center, unless they were w-a-y off base, which did happen once.

The problem is, many TV stations now have technology that is absolutely amazing (one system called VIPIR is kick-ass) and it often contradicts the government forecast, since it's so far ahead.

Yeah- Channel 8 here has VIPIR. They are the only ones I am watching. They completely predicted the last one correctly.
