I'm still here...until 11/1/05 at least. After that it's wide open, but I'm obligated to finsih what I started. Get my didgits from KS and we'll see if we can't find some trouble. I live in the west loop, so it's not that far from Hyde Park.

    Gonzo...here's an idea...

A motorist who allegedly was doing doughnuts in the sand near the North Avenue Beach pier this morning drove his sport-utility vehicle into Lake Michigan and was rescued by officers of the Chicago police Marine Unit.

Driving a green Nissan, the man, whose identity was not disclosed, plunged into water at least 12 feet deep about 10:30 a.m., police said. He got out of the car, started swimming and was plucked from the lake by police about 100 yards offshore.

The driver was conscious and talking to his rescuers when he was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said. His medical condition was not immediately available.

Chicago Fire Department divers entered the water to mark the submerged car's location and to make sure no one else was in the vehicle.

    Chicago,
from my many buisness trips there I can recomend:
    1) vollyball by the shore ( went with some hotel dudes while there. pretty good scene)

    2) sportfucking ( Chicago has gotta have the greatest collection of genuinely friendly high class tail in the US.)

cannot believe you can get going fast enough with your kite rig longboard in the "windy City"

a kite surfing sail and harness... longboard ...

Seems obviously really. Actually it's a lot of fun on a mountainboard, never tried a longboard though. Body Armor is a very good idea however.

You're right, but adrenal release sounds like you want an adrenalectomy- sorry, never mind, I...just... go on these tangents sometimes...

My brother-in-law, who is one of my main ski bros will miss this entire season, and almost died kite-surfing on his mountain board when a gust of wind whipped him and he couldn't get out of the harness in time - that was in mid-July and was pretty scary for his family. If you're to take up that sport, please be careful - ain't worth missing turns on snow.

Try your local public high school or JC. I used to work in day care during the summer, and once a week we'd take the kids across the street to the pool at the local JC. I think they charged $5, but I got in free since I was working. Either way, it's cheap and you can work on some serious self-inflicted carnage hucking yourself off the high dive.
