    Oh, almost forgot - JONG!
    Thank you!

So when are you heading out west? You are going this season right?
We were talking about Thanksgiving in CO until my dad died in April. I think the holiday will suck for my mom so no go. It's doesn't look good for this year.

    I'm a JONG here, also.

I just returned from my first trip to Indiana--dropped my freshman daughter off at DePauw. I really enjoyed meeting people; everyone was very nice and very helpful.

As to that ice, my regular skiing is in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. A day of Pennsylvania skiing is better than not skiing at all, but sometimes not by much!
I ski because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things.

    Hi Divegirl!
I was beginning to wonder if I was going to be rescued from the sausagefest! Thanks for the welcome!

Man... WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THIS BOARD???? It's absolutely f#cking pussified these days! It's nausiating.

2 pages on this thread with no posts of substance! (Yeah, I realize I'm not helping any here....) Why aren't we grilling this newbie?!?!? You know.. make him earn his keep... weed out the weak...

Mr. Nohills - is all this trouble worth it, or are you just gonna be another one of those typical f'ing JONGS that we've seen time and time again, both on this board and especially on the old board, that puts in a few dozen posts in the next month or so and then fades off into oblivion? Are you gonna say anything with some weight (other then "thank" and that you're glad to be here)? C'mon... give us something to go on!

Why am I wasting my time on this thread?

Perfect North, Crystal Mtn, Caberfae Peaks, & Bittersweet

I'm sorry, even though I ski these places on occasion. They still pretty much suck. Crytal isn't bad. But defintely get out west.

If you are in or near Indianapolis, they have a club that you can get pretty cheap trips, if your into the club thing. This is an easy way to meet alot of people with the same interest as you. Kinda depends on how old you are, I'd say if your less than 30 the indy club may be a little old for you.

If your heading up to Michigan sometime this winter, post and I may be around. We could have a midwest mini summit.

Long drive, huh? I've never been to DePauw.

    Ahem--that's Mrs. Nohills.
What kind of things with weight should I say when it's 85 degrees out, with no mountains or molehills in my backyard?
When I find them, I'll scan my "stoke" and share.

I liked Caberfae better than Crystal.
I'm north of there. We have a ski club here, but the meetings aren't on a doable night.
I'm sure we'll head to MI a few times this winter.

    Wait... you're female?

Well, spank me and call me Shirley. This place is WAY, WAY testosterone saturated. Any way to start to balance the scales is dandy. I take it all back!

Here's a bit of a warning - read this thread before too long, or you may find toenails between your teeth. Just replace the word "Powder" with "TGR."

Are you sure? Sometimes, I look down and think I'm a girl, too, but... maybe that's because.... uh.... nevermind.

speaking of hills, how can there not be any (ski)hills near you? It's the midwest, mangette! got more skihills than the west by far. never mind that they're all 200 ft high or former landfills. so, howzat possible?
