    Thumbs down Backcountry Ticks

So I went to Mammoth Backcountry up near Yosemite to snowboard in some film with Don Sabo, Tom Burt, Dave Hatchett, and Steve Gram. This was way back in the early 90’s but it’s a story to tell.

Those guys were going off doing early board slides on me! I and another guy held up our boards and got slid by Steve Gram. I don’t know what film it was but Sabo in an orange ski mask aired off a cliff into a layback! They had a dummy launch 200 plus feet. Silly! Tom Burt had to free climb up to dislodge the dummy that got stuck on a 40 foot ledge. I was awed by Burt’s ability to haul ass up a face and climb back down!

So two days later I’m taken a poop and when I go to wipe I feel a rather large dingle berry. I tore it out and had to look at it. It was a huge TICK! Bloody fat from my ass. I ran in and woke up the home owner who let me crash there, “Look at this tick I just pulled out of my ass!” He wasn’t impressed nor was his chick.

    Sabo >>> Szabo

I used to see (I didnt know him) Don Szabo at SoCal skate spots, mostly ramps, tearing it up. He had a particular, smooth style, that was uncommon. I never saw any of his snowboarding, I'd like to to see what it is like in comparison. Any thoughts on who was filming? Was Dave Hatchet riding and not filiming?

Good times. Not too fond of ticks either.
