Thread: October Powder

KD, you know what I dig about the Oct. issue is that you have the Shooting Gallery right up front. Awesome. I also kinda dig the Letters section being in the back. I like reading them, but it's such a rush when you open the mag and within just a few pages you're bombarded by the sicko pics of the Shooting Gallery. It's like song #1 on your favorite album - it gets you charged for the rest of it.

MBS, that Intro pic is sweet! I dig it more than the cover shot. Seems like you couldn't really put that shot on the cover because of the composition (KD, is this true?), but for artistic value, I'd say it's the coolest pic in the issue. I want a poster of that pic and Chris Pondella's pic #1 in Shooting Gallery.

Thanks to Powder for getting my winter drool going in early September.

I gotta disagree with sponcered, I am a big fan of the build, and having the shooting gallery up front with nothing higher on the stoke level for the rest of the mag-- it's blowing yer load a little early.

Of course I am no editor and it is a mundane detail, who cares.

    wha wha what?

KD - Did I see correctly in the powdercat and heliski guide, that Tracker DTS trancievers are now 179 bucks? Was that a typo, or are they really that price now?

I love the aformentioned guide, which I guess came in subscriber-only copies; and while I'm unlikely to use those services myself the added pictures (and heft) made an already fantasic issue just amazing. Especially compared to the shit that was last year - no offense guys, but it was really bad.

cool touch using the old Strategic Air Command badge too

The 179.00 price used to be dealer cost. I dont know if it is a typo or not, since I havent seen any dealer / proforms from BCA lately but I'd be suprised if they dropped the price that much

yeah, I would too, considering most other beacons are still solidly in the 250-300 range
