EVERYONE WHO HAS NOT GOTTEN SEPT. YET: CALL 800-289-8983, OR E-MAIL POWDER@PALMCOASTD.COM.

And please keep me informed about the results. This is a new company for us, and they will definitely be cleaning up some of the mess that the last company left. But I want to make sure they are an improvement and not the continuation of shitty service.

As for foreign service, I will look into that. I know it was a cost issue in the past, but there is obviously a big opportunity there if our company wants to step up to it.

On the cover: Huckasoarass skiing, Matt Lev. shot. There will be a scan on the powder homepage by the end of the day.

Buyer's guide: it's in there, but condensed--same amount of info but in less pages. Wanted to give you all something to read besides gear reviews. All comments, especially criticism, are welcome.

Also needed, soon: funny letters. Got a lot of "You guys are great" letters after sept, which is good, but makes for boring reading on the letters page. It's worth the effort: ask tyronne, buster, and max. I don't have an intern right now, so e-mail them right to me at: derek.taylor@primedia.com. Need these by early next week to make the dec. issue.

Thanks again everyone for the support. We [/sniff] love you, man.

grant, that shot is fucking incredible. The tree bring in there throws your sense of perception off; it almost looked like you were shooting laterally at that guy instead of up above him. That's a fantastic pic.

PS - props to a mag - read the intro words, they have some very glowing words for gundar...

and I'm glad to see Bozeman represented again in Powder too.

Lynxie, I wouldn't put you to work; you've done your time. But It'd be great to see you, so don't even think about setting foot in OC without paying us a visit.

KD, Thanks to you and Powder for turning the mag around, however, I blame you for my complete lack of motivation to do anything all day yesterday when the October issue came in the mail.

    • Excessive, obsessive gear questioning 10 yards, loss of down
    • Not using techtak 5 yards
    • Excessive spraying 10 yards loss of down

Yup, its cool to see all the skis we always talk about all grouped together how they should be, and not by brand.

My only complaint is that the print is white and the background photo is baby blue snow, it makes it very hard for me to read twards the bottom of the page where the photo gets really light.

Ditto on that Steep. I had to sit under a bright light with glasses on to read the reviews.

On a different note ... The Stockli Stormrider XL is hardly an East coast ski only. Though it excells on groomers and hardpack/ice, I have found it is superb in pow and crud as well. That's my 2 pennies worth.
The snow doesn't give a soft white damn whom it touches.
