    Cheap Trip

I am trying to plan a trip with some friends for late Dec or early January. the list of possibilities include
    1. Utah area (alta-bird, park city, and the like)
    2. Jackson hole
    3. Whistler, or BC in general

We are poor college kids, so anything you know about cheap travel deals, lodging or anything to keep us from living on the streets when we get home would be good. Our number one choice would be Whistler, but any other suggestions would be good as well. Canada = skiing + bars + no sleep, its the greatest

keep your eyes peeled for deals at stuff like hotels.com expedia etc. then once you see something good call the place directly and see what price they gaive you. Its usually a few bucks cheaper. I was able to book a 2 bedroom 3 bath place last winter in Park city(walk to lifts) for something like $250 with the last night free. We had 7 people in there so for like 6 nights we only paid something like 150 or so a person. Pretty sweet deal. Ohh and we killed at the continental breakfast.

Golden, Fernie or Nelson would be cheaper alternatives than Whistler for a Canada trip. By early Jan you should have good conditions. Banff would be another good choice, more $$$ than the first three, but still cheaper than W/B. Of course, Whistler is Whistler - so.....

If you're looking for a good deal in Whistler go the week before Christmas. Not to say it will be cheap, but definitely cheaper. You might be able to get good deals right after New Years, too. For cheap lodging check out the Shoestring Lodge, Fireside Lodge or UBC Lodge. The Shoestring has the advantage of The Boot pub on premises. You might enjoy the Boot Ballet!

it would be nice if i knew 7 people that would drop money on a ski trip. I live in maryland, people think they are good skiers if they can sled down the driveway. These people have never seen a powder day. We are lucky to get granular, we ski ice at our local mole hills
