I think straightline to quarter-mile pond skim is the next big thing.

    Nice pics.

So how was it? Had you been to Portillo before? I've heard it can get boring after a few days. Any truth to that?

Nice shots. I'm sure people think you look strange with a goggle tan this time of year

    Nice shots of Portillo. Thanks.

I Like the shot of Roca Jack with lake in background, and the one of the High Traverse off of Roca Jack.

Strange that the lake hasn't frozen over.

Sorry for this, but "when I was there 2 years ago....."
The lake was frozen over by the middle of August.
Did you hear anybody talking about this when you were there.
It must be the warm temperatures and relatively low snowfall this year.

Even so, the snow looks good in your pictures.

    Way to go.

First time in Chile we were in Las Lenas last year. We had a couple of days with new snow, not big dumps but enough to be fun.

Terrain not on the same scale as LL but still plenty of goods.

I'd heard about the lake being frozen and the lines that then became skiable. It was trying to freeze up, one cold snowy day you could see the surface "thickening".

Get bored skiing? In August? Are you nuts?

Bummer the lake wasn't frozen....some of those chutes down to the lake are really fun!

    Got any action pics?
