Seems I've got myself a little training course on multivariate analysis coming up. Combine the joy that that surely brings boiling to your surface with the fact that it will take place in Kinnelon, New Jersey and, well, the only thing I can look forward to is the possibility of Maggitude.

Don't have details, but I think I'm within striking distance of Manhattan. What say ye? The nights of Sept 12 - 15 are the options ('course, I be down for all four of 'em).

Plenty of time to mull it over.

1) Plan on getting out of there on the 16th, so it's only weekdays for me.

2) Thanks for the offer noodles, but I think I'm set for lodging.

3) Course notes are a given. What else are we going to talk about if/when we gather for beers?

Wow, you'll get the thrill of driving Route 23 - unless they've fixed it since I was younger, it is one of the more "challenging" roads to drive in New Jersey. try not to get stuck doing more than three laps in the traffic circles.

Co-workers already warned me about the crazy traffic circle things. Also warned me that there's about 15million Holiday Inns so it ain't easy finding the right one. Joy. Can't wait.

Enjoy your time here in our lovely " Jersey Alps". I'm not too far from where you'll be. Hard to tell what that week will bring with 2 little ones at home though. Keep us all posted on your schedule as the time draws near.

Traffic circles? What's this Massachusetts? Jug handles perhaps... Don't worry about Grrr he's just home-taylorham-sick.

I'm getting into Newark around 7pm Sunday. Will probably just find my hotel and chill that night. Will be calling ACE to arrange some midweek festivities. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday night - they're all good for me.

I'll be staying in Wayne - any suggestions on getting into Manhattan? Is there a bus that would be a better option than driving?

You'll want to have a look at www.njtransit.com. There is Midtown direct train service, but the last train out is on the early side. Wayne is pretty convenient by car into midtown via rt. 46 east to rte. 3 east to the Lincoln tunnel. No more than 30 minutes without traffic. You'll also be right off of Rte 80 East to GW Bridge. Both easy shots via car depending where you'll be going.

I'm just down the road from Wayne, if you're staying local and looking to grab a beer let me know via PM. I'd be glad to show you some local haunts that I'm not sick or ashamed of yet! If you have any other questions about the area, let me know!

I've landed in NJ. Just chillin' tonight, but looking to catch the Big Game on Tuesday (I think it's on espn2). All evenings are free as of 5:00pm. Looks to be multiple bus routes into town that will leave me at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. From there I am in your hands...

Kinnelon? Ha! That's all of 5-8 miles of where I grew up. I drove Route 23 from West Milford down to Wayne more times than I dare try to remember. And at least when I did it, there were 1/2 the lights there are now.

If you guys are doing anything on Wednesday night, I can probably partake. I don't know where you can find tomorrow night's hockey game on TV. Me and the Miss will be watching at home, but if you can find any place w/ it on in the city or in North Jersey, I might be able to talk her into taking the trip.

...and *my* way of getting into the city would include driving to Washington Street in Hoboken and parking in the lot that is at 1st and Washington (or maybe another cross street - but right there nonetheless) and taking the PATH into town.

Talked to Dex and ACE and formulated a rough notion of a plan. I'm going to try to get to ACE's restaurant between 7:00 and 7:30 pm Wednesday night. I'd like to partake in his fine cuisine, but am open to anything else in the vicinity. Drinks afterwards are mandatory.

Internet access is scarse - I don't have access during the day. Will check back tomorrow night for any updates.

Speaking of tomorrow night, I'll most likely settle for trying to convince the hotel bar to show the game for me or watching it in my room. Am open to other/better ideas.
