    LETS GO SAWX!

4 games back - the final push begins TONIGHT at Fenway..
Not worried? With that leaky pitching staff, the Yankers BETTER be worried!

there is no reason to think about winning the division. it will do nothing but distract from whats important. lets focus instead on the next game. one at a time, one at a time. if we do happen to catch the bombers, they will get the card. so it doesn't really matter, we'll be seeing them in the post season.

sox starters have gone 40 games in a row with over five innings pitched. that is freaking amazing.

Easy Dave, like a pitcher taking a no-no into the late innings, this may be better left alone. We all know what's going on. Like Basepipe said, its all about the next game. Its not about the pinstripes, its about playing the best baseball possible day in, day out. I like what I see. Lets keep it going.

At this point the wildcard would be more than enough for me. But I would love to end the season with a better record than the yankees. The only problem is we have a pretty tough month or so left of the season, while the yankees have a much easier schedule than us..Gonna be a tough month but if they keep playin like they do it will be no problem

I TOTALLY disagree with that statement. As far as I am concerned, there is no reason to think about the WILDCARD when you are within pissing distance of first place. You don't play for second place, you play for FIRST PLACE

obviously you play for first. but you get to first by winning one game at a time. nobody on that team is thinking about the yankees untill the next series with them in a few weeks. thats just how it works. you can obsess all you want about the yankees, but its not going to make us win or them loose.

now sweeping the angels. I'm all about that conversation. they are a team playing as well as the sox, if not better. lets go shill.

In Carbondale Colorado (about 40 miles west of Aspen at the coner of hwy 82 and 133) there is a restaurant called the "Red Rocks Cafe" that has a Boston Red Sox 1986 world champions penant signed by all the players.

I asked a waitress about it and she said that the owner is from Boston and was able to snag one of the penants before they had to destroy all of them after the Mets won it. It is one of those amazing things that some of you Red Sox faithful may want to take a pilgrimage to go and see. What could have been for you poor Sox fans.

It's not about obsessing with the Spankees -we are 4 games back with TWENTY-NINE games to play(six of them with you-know-who) - so WHY are we talking "wild-card"? I'm talking division. Home field advantage.

i'm not talking wild card. i'm talking one fucking game at a fucking time. if we win the games, then we don't even have to fucking talk.

one fucking game at a fucking time. okay?

its obvious that we are in it, who cares if any yankee fans admit it.

    DON'T SLAM THE FUCKING DOOR!....................

The point I am making is that the media (and fans, listening to sportsradio) had conceded the division a month ago and just talk about the wildcard race. Fuck the wildcard race. I don't care. You play to win your division. If you fall short and they let you in the back door, well fine. You don't play for second place until you are mathematically eliminated from first.

thats obviously your point. so fuck those loosers. the media is just trying to get your panties in a bunch about something, anything. fuck those guys.

it is a fact, however, that the yankees have never, ever, in the history of the franchise, given up a 6 game or more division lead after the first of august. so i think thats where a lot of the media guys are comming from with the concession. do you really care if some douchdog on eei has conceded the division? you don't think that francona and the boys have done this do you? because they sure as hell arn't playing like it.

wheather you want to talk about wild card or division, the only thing that matters to the guys who can make this happen is whats going to go down in three hours from now. big picture stuff is over for the season. no more marathon. every single out counts now, and those guys know that.

    10-1 Sox.

If you need an indication of how well things have been going in Boston, Dave Roberts just hit a 3-run dinger.

I've said this before, but the Red Sox performance has way too large of an impact on my general demeanor.

Schilling still pitching in the 8th...

I was at the stadium tonight--go Tribe!!!
What a beautiful game. I wish every Yankees game would be like that one. No fucking pitching on that team.
Sox got me a bit scared at the end there--10-3 when we left at the bottom of the eighth, 10-7 when I checked the score on the train. Whew. Gotta have the Sox win at least 4 of 6 against the Yanks.

yeah, Adams may not really be the best guy to close that one out. however, putting him in with a seven run cushion seemed like an okay move...... untill he gave up the slam. Foulkie came in and did his job and got the save because of Adams' mistake. Glaus up representing the tying run with two outs..... exciting to say the least.

you listening to the radio today dave? i'm betting you get your wish of nothing but division race hoplah and blahdity -blah all day long. soak it up brah.

Great game but I want Pokence Reese back. That guy just has a radius around him that nothing, not even light, can get past.
