Talking Any CO mags want to ride Keystone Thursday?

I'm heading out to Denver to visit MD9 & wife for several days. Crinkle and I are going to ride some DH on Thursday at Keystone. PM either of us if you can make it. I'll bring a few cameras for the photo sluts.

I'm also looking for a easy XC ride, on another day too. (easy as in not too much steep climbing).

Hope to meet up with the front range crew, if possible.

I want a 6" travel 20lb MTB. I found the 20lb MTB, but only good for riders under 87 pounds.

I can ride DH or XC this weekend if you're free.

We are going to shop the ski sales, but other than that I'd like to ride some more. What do you suggest?

Since you're doing Keystone, maybe Vail or Winter Park for DH. I could do an x-c ride too, but I'm kinda outta shape and they all have a lot of climbing (but I'm sure you could handle it). I'll post when I know my work schedule.

saturday we could do 3 sisters, that is a mellow/easy climb, good for guys who aren't in late season riding shape. Less crowds out in evergreen than front range too.

Dammit... I'd love to tag along on these rides. The ankles not quite ready for any kind of climbing though.
If anybody wants to come ride Cherry Creek or Highline with me I'll show you how us suburbanites get hardcore on the paved trail, baby!!
C'mon... you don't REALLY like all that climbing anyhow.

    Talking

Funken, Crinkle & Jibji, all of those rides sound fun. Unless I get beat up too bad at Keystone, I'll ride Fri - Mon too.

Hey Jibji, come ride some DH. You can use the RM9. It's so soft and squishy, you wont have to even use your ankles or knees. I get lazy on it and sit too much of the time.

See if you guys can talk MD9 into coming and riding also. He has a full rigid bike. Or I can bring another bike for him too.

full rigid = bad idea for DH, especially how that guy likes to go down fast.

You should bing both bikes. You don't want to pedal/push that big DH rig on a XC ride.

I am bringing both my bikes with suspension. I could also bring an old rigid, if it can be used. It's an older Cannondale that I've just used for riding on roads and smooth trails.

Pedaling a DH bike uphill, is all work and no play.

I'd like to get to Keystone about 10 AM, when they open the lifts. I'm leaving my puter, so get a hold of Crinkle to make meeting plans.

wahama, I'll just post it here, but you have my cellie, so feel free to give me a call later in the week.

The talk was/is for a relatively easy XC ride for saturday, correct??

If so, I suggest 3 sisters park out in Evergreen. Non-technical climb, super hard pack trails. Only 1 section that you might have to get off your bike (going up), also resulting in a very mellow approach to the top. There are all kinds of loop options here to add more technical portions if warranted. I'll be down for a loop or two of the Evergreen trail. here is a map of 3 sisters trails
Everything South of the road goes to the summit, the stuff north of the road is more technical, pending on your type of fun.

three sisters is definitely a mellow ride, if you know how to ride but aren't it super shape it is very do-able. If GT has other things in mind like more DH, that would require another trip out past the divide, which can be arranged, but there is not much to DH on the front range. I know there might be some Boulder maggots which might know the route down West Mag (I don't), but a guided tour there could be a sweet and long shuttle [wink, wink, nudge, nudge]

If anyone is free on Friday I would be up for something. I have the pretty much most the of the day free. I would be down for some front range stuff. Sunday, I should be up to Winter Park as well. Shoot me a PM if anyone is interested.

Never have ridden up at Lair O' the Bear, but would be interested. The other ride I was thinking was Green Mountain. I will PM my cell number.
