Question DB Skis [Tech Talk, Biatch]

Any of you guys skied or demo these?

Was schmoozing with the higher upes in my company (Lumbergh's boss's boss's boss), and found out he's a total dude, so we got talking about skis. (He demoed my Iggys and Nok's at our Squaw offsite and dug them). I emailed him the sites for the Bro Models, Iggy, DB Skis and AKs.

Now he's emailing me all sorts of DB questions and I don't want to give him any wrong info.

Short of giving him the TGR forum, or saying "Yeah, a bunch of internet ski people rave about DB skis", what's some of the firsthand stuff you guys have observed?

hop and some others have called the Tabla Rosa the "best big mountain ski ever". search & tech talk and you'll pull up a ton f shite.

Is your bosses bosses boss on research side of things? If so, bring him to KW one day so I can give him my card

I said it once and I'll say it again. The Tabla Rasa is the BEST SKI EVER EVER EVER EVER BEST SKI EVER BEST SKI EVER BEST SKI EVER BEST BEST BEST EVER EVER EVER!
Best ski ever. The ski is tits. Bees knees. Cats meow. The shit.

edit: Stiff enough to blast through crud and funk with ease. Damp enough to not get deflected around by crud and funk. Soft and fat enough to float through the pow, crud and funk, esp. with new design features (exactly what I told Stephan I wanted if/when I pick up a pair). The super trump card is the non-existant weight when you're skiing them. They're hands-down the most largestest skis I've ever skied, but at the same time probably the easiest to ski and most nimble in tight spaces.

Officially I ski for K2. In my dreams I ski on Tablas.

edit no. 2: In my dreams I also sleep with supermodels, the world is peaceful, and everything is happy and wonderful all the time. I can dream, can't I???

I'm not gonna let anyone catch me saying something similar to what hop just did. But I'm sure thinking it.

From where I'm sitting now I can see my 200cm FFLs, some leftover M103 team editions, a bunch of next years Big Daddies and some random crap (G40s, Tankers, 200FGS etc.). The skis that I tend to look at the most though are the Tablas that Glisseur keeps at my pad due to lack of own storage space. They're that good!

If you guys don't stop spraying about the Tablas, I'm gonna be forced to buy another pair of skis. I don't want another pair of skis, I don't need another pair of skis, I shouldn't spend any more money on skis...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Check out Any Mountain's presentation of Matchstick Production's "Yearbook" at a series of movie showings in California's Bay Area. There will be a db skis table at each show featuring the tabla rasa, surreal, and r.

Fack, DB was demoing skis when I was in Lenas and I had no clue. Oh well.

Edit: Damn you, Punani. I just spent a few minutes over at the DB site investigating a pair of Tabla Rasas. 186...29# flex... And I was just telling Walter I can't think of another pair of skis I would want. I must not think bad thoughts. No I must not think bad thoughts.

'Bout to make the Surreal a reality. Anyone have a referral code? If so, drop me a PM. Thanks, Brian.

    P. S. Arty - you should email 'em and request a Kookwood demo day. I think they're still looking for slots to fill.

I made the same stupid ass mistake of checking out there website as well and now after thinking my quiver is complete, I am just not so sure anymore. hey, they cost 880/pair you and i live within what 3 miles of each other, maybe we could do a joint ownership kind of deal.

edit: you want the 29 flex? that is stiffer than an axiom? damn, that is stiff, i think i would have to go for the 25 flex, especially given the fact that we really don't have too many spots where we could really let those suckers run.

tablas and spatulas.. your life would be complete

my biggest debate right now is what kind of bindings im going to put on them. its a shame to waste a really light pair of skis w/ alpine bindings.. but im hoping to ski these at least 75% of the time and dont like loosey goosey freerides after a season or so on em.

Hmmm...timeshare on skis. Let's start a new business.

As for the flex, look at the flex chart. It seems like these have a progressive flex: stiff in the middle, looser at the tip and tail. So they may not be Axiom stiff per se. Interesting question.
