I'm accustomed to the summer crowds, everyone hates them and it sucks....but The Wall completely full on a 5 ft day? April? 40 degree water? Most of the plates weren't even fucking kebecs. This summer is going to be out of control.

but then again...it is the wall....

I was actually amazed at the lack of crowds this weekend. Water's getting warmer and we had a (small) swell coming through, so I thought it'd be packed, but there were like a dozen people at Black's Saturday and today Sunset Cliffs didn't get crowded till like 11:00
5ft? Then why surf the Wall? At that size it is time to hit up the points and get away from the gapers. Am I wrong on this? I mean, ya'll got some of the best points/reefs on the east coast within less than an hour from the Wall.
I still remember winters in NYC. There were like 5 of us that surfed Rockaway from after Thanksgiving until Memorial Day. Loved it. And then like 500 of us the rest of the year. Not as nice.
I was using the wall as a measurement. I rarely surf there anymore...even though it's still breaks GREAT on the right days. Outside the "surf zone" to the south was excellent in the morning and further north at the Rocks, it was empty for like 45 minutes around 2 o'clock. Still amazed at how many people were out.
