i forget what flavor i bought from Performance a few years ago... something with orange or citrus. in any case, it tasted like crap. but i still choked it down for a 24 hour mtn. bike race i was doing. i guess it helped since i never bonked.

There are some here who like it. Maybe better to buy a smaller jug first to try out if at all possible. I don't know how well the stuff holds out. Some mixes, like Cytofart, get hard and nasty soon after opening the can. So, I always buy small.

Holds up fine. I'm on my 2nd big can (har) and it's still a fine powder.

Makes a huge difference in recovery after a hard day of skiing or a long bike ride, etc. Even better than a energy bar + water after a ride. Also, do a search for more info.

ProTip: You can spike it with orange gatorade powder to change the taste up if you want. Now, I actually just drink the Orange Endurox straight up, no gatorade twist.

It's not bad, but if you can find the vanilla flavor get it. Then go purchase some "Chocolate Malt Syrup" and make a shake out of it with ice in a blender. It's pretty good that way. Less gritty taste

Some people mix it with flavored coffee as well. But that just sounded nasty to me. It must be a Quebec thing.

I switched from Endurox to Cytomax because I thought Cyto tasted better. All that stuff works the same, for me.

I just bought a couple sample packs of Sportlegs, a pill form of anti-bonking dope. I have a hard time believing it'll be as good as the Cyto but may be surprised. In any case, in pill form it should be a good backup.

I'm a sucker for anything that can boost the performance/endurance of my aging legs. I've tried pretty much all the "performance" or "recovery" drinks on the market and I notice the biggest difference when using Endurox. I like the Fruit Punch flavor best, but I haven't tried the Vanilla flavor yet. Stay away from the citrus flavor - tastes like three day old cat puke (or at least what I imagine three day old cat puke would taste like). It IS a recovery drink and works best to reduce the damage a hard workout does to your muscles. DRASTICALLY reduces the soreness.

Endurox also makes a pill called Endurox Excel that you take BEFORE you work out. It works! I noticed a big increase in endurance.

Sportlegs does work. I bought a bottle and I did notice a big difference in the length of time I could ski before my quads would start to burn. It's just too expensive for me to take regularly though.

Thanks for your opinions, think I'll get me some while it's on sale.My regular protein drink is $33 per 5 Lb container at Vitamin Cottage & this is on sale at Performance for $28 for 4.5 lbs .Sounds like I should stock up!

I'll have to check into the other stuff as well.

If Endurox is like Cyto, it's not a protein drink. It's more like a high tech Gatordade type sports drink, I drink the shit before during and after skiing. It helps me out especially because I have a hard time eating while excercising. Add bonus - beats up on hangovers.

Endurox has a 4:1 carb protein ratio. It's a post-exercise recovery drink. It's focus is replacing glycogen stores, not electrolytes (like Gatorade.)

Werd. So its different. Cyto is strickly carbs.

Cytomax is the world's most scientifically advanced complex carbohydrate, electrolyte performance energy drink. Ensures proper hydration, steady energy and reduced fatigue during exercise.
or so they say. I can suck with or without it.

Try Twinlab's Ultrafuel for liquid carbs. Cytomax is more hype.
I'm sold on endurox for recovery.
Also ya might try clifshots. Easy to digest + ya can get'em w/ caffeine. Mmmmmm!
Mocha mocha is my fav. for b/c climbing.

Cytofart is great for for electrolyte and carbohydrate replacement during excercise- the working solution is something like 5-6% sugar, which is the optimal concentration for absorbtion by the GI track and also facilitates stomach emptying.

Ultrafuel is strictly for post excercise. One 16 oz bottle contains something like 100 grams of glucose! Drink that prior or during excercise and you're going down. I think they still make Hydrafuel, however, which is more amenable as an excercise supplement.

that's why they recently reformulated it to more simple carbs (i.e dextrose). I also add a scoop of micronized creatine or phosphagen hp (more dextrose, 5gr creatine) and some alpha lipolic acid to help shuttle the carbs into the muscle where you want them (glycogen replacement/storage)

    but that's just me

Endurox is great stuff, I use it after long climbs and skiing. Save on supplements.com here in Denver always has it for around $28.00 for the 4.5 lb container. Here's the link.

Wow, I've never tried any of these things. I'm really missing the boat! Seriously, I think I'll try Endurox. My recovery time is definitely getting longer with age.

So approx. how many servings in a 4.5 lb container?

One more freakin' thing to spend money on...
